The Boy Next Door

Prologue

So this is a story about a girl named Raegan, her brother Johnny and their mom. They move to a new town called Hawthorn after Raegan and Johnny's mom get a new job work as the head doctor in the hospital there. Raegan and Johnny don't always get along but when they do it's usually because someone is picking on Raegan and Johnny is making sure she isn't to hurt. This is how they have always been since their father past away. They were close when he was alive because they would always spend time with him but once he died they kind of just grew apart.

They are moving to Hawthorn in a month and Johnny is ready to go and try to get on the football team at the new school but Raegan is not ready to move at all, they have lived inthe same house since they were kids and she didn't want to leave her childhood home. Their moms name is Giana and she is close the Raegan and Johnny but not as close as their father was. She does everything she can to keep the peace in the house and does everything she can to keep Raegan and Johnny happy but lately since she told them they are moving they have both been a little angry with her. Well Raegan more than Johnny.

Raegan is seventeen and she is really smart but is also really shy. She doesn't have the courage to stick up for herself but she tries to. Usually Johnny helps her when someone is picking on her. She is a junior in high school. She usually wears dark colors because her dad loved dark colors and would help her pick out the clothes they would buy. They would make sure they were girly but not to girly. Even though she usually wears dark colors she sometimes wears light colors. She usually wear light colors for special occasions, like parties, school dances, family events, etc. She was the most hurt when her father died because she was the closest to him.

Johnny is eighteen, he is smart and loves sports. He is one of the popular boys at their school now and is sure he will be just as popular at their new school. It seems like he doesn't like car about Raegan but he does, if he hears someone is picking on her in any way he puts his foot and tells them to leave her alone, and usually everyone listens to him because they knows he can ruin their reputation. Johnny wears a lot of different types of clothes, it just kind of depends on his mood. He dad would help him pick out some of his clothes but not as much as he helped Raegan. Johnny wasn't really jealous of how close Raegan and their father was because he knew his dad loved him just as much. He only knew he could go to his dad whenever he needed to and tell him whatever was on his mind but since their dad is gone he hasn't had anyone to talk to so he keeps to himself. That is part of the reason he is kinda mean to Raegan.

Their mom Giana now being a single mother is trying her hardest to keep them happy and to make sure they don't grow to far apart. She wants to make sure they keep talking to each other but she also wants them to have their space. She knows that they have been dealing with their father dying in their own way. Her and the kids are moving because she got a new position at the hospital in Hawthorn, she is now the head doctor which means the other doctors can't do anything to patients without her permission. She is happy to have this position but she doesn't want to have to have the kids move. The way she dresses is pretty nice, of course at work she wears scrubs but everywhere else she wears comfy clothes, they are usually randomly color coordinated but most of the time important events are light colors but some of them she wears dark colors.

With the family moving in about a week Raegan is really nervous and scared. Johnny and her mom keep telling her that she will be fine. Johnny is ready to go so he can join the football team at their new school. Their mom is ready to start her new job. Lucky for them they get help moving because Giana is a doctor. A moving company helps them move. Raegan is scared that she won't make friends and Johnny is sure he will make friends on the first day. As you can tell they are completely different in many ways but they are the same in some ways.

Raegan was the last one to finish packing up her room. Johnny and their mom were done really quickly but Raegan likes to take her time and keep everything neat. It's not that she has OCD, it's just she has system of how everything should be since she hasn't moved anything in her room since she was a kid. She has added stuff to her room but moving things nope, never happened. Johnny and her mom have rearranged their rooms a lot, so it isn't hard for them to pack things up. Since the packing is done and they are leaving soon how much will change for them?
