Bullying Marathon

Once upon a time, in Galapagos Island, there lives a peace-keeping tortoise. The island is peaceful until humans discovered it. Not only do they took many of the islands precious resources, built houses, and kidnapped couple of native animals for their own purpose, they also introduced non-native animals, such as rats, cats, sheeps, and a hare. The Hare is hated by many animals, even other non-natives. He likes to brag about his ability to run really fast and taunts others for being slower than him. "I'm the fastest animal in this Island", said the Hare everytime. His favourite target is the Tortoise. The Tortoise even claimed that he hates the Hare much more than humans.

Humans have made a city in the island. Basic foundation of the city has been established and built, which includes schools for children. In one of the school, a little boy has just been bullied by his classmates. While he's bullied, he never report such thing to his teacher. He classified two groups of bullies in his class, the Resident and the Transient. Resident is the most encountered bully groups, consisting 6 people. They like to play tricks and taunts him, which often makes him really annoyed and angry. The Transient group only consist of 3 people, but they often uses their rather fearsome appearance and strength to get what they want, and what they want is money. But they only did this when they truly didn't have money, but they still makes the boy feel uneasy in the school. When feeling uneasy, the boy often run out of the school and spent sometime alone before going back. Today, the Resident hides his shoes, and it took him about an hour to find it. Felt really angry, the boy storm out and go into a nearby field. There, he mets the Tortoise, whom stare at him, seemingly weirded out.

"What are you doing here, little fella ? Are you angry at something ?" ask the Tortoise. "Well, you see, some of my classmates just likes to pick up on me. I really hate them." replied the boy. "Hmm, so what humans hate is each other...okay. I can relate." said the Tortoise. "Relate ? Do animals have bullies ?" ask the boy. "Oh, we don't. Well, until humans introduced these non-native animals, anyway." replied the boy. "Oh, i'm sorry. I feel ashamed now." apologized the boy. "Oh its okay. Its not your fault. Anyway, so there's this Hare that keeps taunting other animals for being slow. Especially me. He also likes to play tricks on me. I think it matches your definition of bully." Explain the tortoise. "Well, not really matches, but its pretty close." Said the boy.

"Okay, i had to go back now, see you around, Mr Tortoise." said the boy, leaving the Tortoise alone. "What a nice fella. I don't think i ever encounter any humans that nice", mumble the Tortoise. However, as the Tortoise turn around, the Hare runs straight to him at high speed, jump, and land on top of his carapace, triggering the Tortoise's defending movement. "Hahaha, what a wuss, old man." said the Hare while laughing. "Okay. What do you want now ?!" said the Tortoise, in a high note. "Wow, mad already ? I just want to ask for a race. You know, to prove that i'm the best animal around here." Said the Hare. "You're always regarded as the best animal here, so i wanted to knock that title of yours. And i definitely could, because it takes you an hour to turn right. Haha" diss the Hare. The Tortoise didn't take it anymore. "I HAD ENOUGH WITH YOUR NONSENSE. YOU WANT A RACE ? FINE ! I'LL PROVE THAT YOU'RE NOT THE FASTEST HERE !" shouted the Tortoise. "Now that's the spirit. Tomorrow, ten o'clock. At first, i want to make a long route, but i pity you. From the animal village to this human school. See you tomorrow, suckers" said the Hare. After he calms down, the Tortoise sit down and thinking, how can he ever beat the Hare in a race ? He's not fat, slow walking is just his nature. He can't take off his carapace, its a part of him. The boy comes back into the field, and ask the Tortoise. "What happen ? Why did you look so sad ?"

"Well, i just encountered that Hare, and he taunts and dissed me. I didn't take it anymore, so i accept his challenge. But i don't think i'll ever win. My slow moving nature is well, a part of my nature." Explain the Tortoise. "Its alright. I'm sure you can. That Hare is arrogant and ignorant. God didn't like anyone with that attitude. He'll lose in some way." Said the boy. "Thanks, little human. You made me feels a little bit better." The Tortoise and the boy depart in their own way. The Tortoise sleeps early to prepare for the race, while the boy, after arriving in his house, planning something. "I had to do something for that Tortoise. Obviously he won't win if the Hare didn't fail at all." He suddenly got an idea. "I think i'll just chase the Hare out, or perhaps made the bullies chase him, and somehow also made that Resident and Transient bullies fight with each other." The boy keep thinking, and after few minutes connecting the ideas, he went to sleep.

The next day, the race is set. Many animals cheer on the Start Line. The Hare is ready and being impatient. "Where is that old guy ? I can't wait for a million year to get this started." There it is, the Tortoise had arrived. The crowds only cheered the Tortoise and didn't give a single attention to the Hare. "Hmph, they really think he's gonna win this ? Huh, what a bunch of idiots !" Mumbles the Hare. As the two competitor stand on the start line, the flag started to waved. 3...2..1..GO ! The Hare already leaves the Tortoise at dust. The Tortoise tried his hardest, and the crowds cheered him out. "C'mon, you can win this !" Shout one of the animals. The Hare runs so fast, he's already reached the first half. He slowed down and decided to sleep. "It will take him a year to reach this", said the Hare. The Hare slept for an hour, and woke up to find that the Tortoise already passed him. "Wow, what ? What a presistent old beast !"

Meanwhile, the boy had just take a break from studying. The Resident bully approached him, and stole his pencil case. "Hey, give it back !" shout the boy. "Oh, we will !" Said one of the bully. The bully throws the pencil case out of the school, and laughs off the scene. "Just wait. I'll destroy you all !" mumbles the boy. As he picked up the case, he saw the Tortoise getting harassed and taunted by the Hare. He remember his plan to help the Tortoise and makes the bullies fight each other. "I had to start this plan quick. That Tortoise won't be able to win." said the boy to himself. As the boy returns to the school, the Hare still taunts the Tortoise. "Just give up. You know you're a piece of crap !". "No, YOU'RE A PIECE OF CRAP. I WILL DEFEAT YOU." "That'll be achieved million year later. Haha". The Hare then leaves the Tortoise in the dust again. "Oh no. I'm so gonna lose.". As the boy attempt to go to the canteen, the Transient bullies waited him there, and immediately surround him. "Where's your money ?" Ask one of them. "I don't have money." Replied the boy. "Oh, so you dare lying to us ?! We saw you bought a pencil this morning !". Feeling cornered, the boy plays his plan. "Well, you see, Abi and the gang ? They took the rest of my money. I thought they were here, that's why i go here." Explain the boy. "Really ? Where are they now ?" Ask one of the bully. "In the field, maybe. Its one of my hiding spots. They've discovered it."

Just outside the field, the crowd animals were waiting in the finish line. They immediately spotted the Hare. However, the Hare stopped moving. "Hmph, i'll just wait him here. I'll embarass him in front of the crowd" said the Hare. Nearby, the Resident bullies are waiting for the boy to show up. There it is. However, he's not alone like he always does. 3 other people showed up, and they're the terrifying Transient group. They approached rhe Resident and immediately punched one of them in the face. "Don't stole his money ! His money is ours !" shout one of the Transients. The fight ensues. The Tortoise were seen in the horizon, moving as fast as he could. The crowd animals and the Hare are running away from the human fight. The boy, seemingly joins in, but what he does is simply chases the Hare out. The Tortoise smirks at the boy and continues to reach the finish line. After almost getting stomped by one of the humans, he crosses the finish line. The Hare is shocked, and all the animals cheered. The boy comes back at the school and told the teacher what happened, in his own way. The teacher of the school arrives on the scene, and sent the bullies to the detention room. The boy and the Tortoise exchange one last smile before they departed in their own ways again.
