Late. I was late. That was all that ran through my mind the morning after the Jubilee as I hurried to meet up for breakfast with my brother and father; as I arrived however it seemed I wasn't the only one, my dear brother Archie just as late as I was.

Quickly taking up a jog, I smile at my brother as I pass him.

"Morning brother." I say before opening the door to Pop's with one arm wrapped around myself, the multiple layers of clothing and thick scarf not making me immune from the icy cold outside.

As I entered and he walked in behind me I felt an arm wrap around my side and looked up to see Archies smiling face.

"And a very good morning to you!"

Laughing at his enthusiastic response I shook my head and took a few steps forward looking down the isles in search of our father when I felt a tap on my shoulder.

Turning I noticed Archie pointing to our father.

"Hey Bambi, Casanova, I ordered your usuals." He said and smiled at the two of us.

"Thanks Dad!" Archie and I spoke in unison. Arch continued to speak as I made my way over to the booth, taking off various layers as the heat inside Pop's quickly became too much.

Having not heard Archie I frown a turn when I realise he hasn't taken a seat, dad seeming to take notice.

"He went to the bathroo-"

Fred Andrews however stops mid sentence as the door to Pop's jingles signalling a knew customer, thanks to his view of the door seeing the masked gun man, however unable to warn anyone before he entered.

With weapon raised his weapon at Pop Tate as he yelled at the few customers to get on their knees.

As her father takes her hand Everly is fast to slide out of the booth and drop to her knees by her fathers side, shaking in fear at the events that were unfolding before them when she noticed her brother walking into the room.

With wide eyes she shook her head "no" alongside her father at him, however seeing he wasn't about to stop Fred Andrews stood catching the gunman's attention as he took a few steps forward with arms raised, palms facing forward in a sign of peace.

"What do you want?!" The gunman yelled before raiding his gun causing Fred to react and step back while Archie ran forward in an attempt to stop him, however the struggle didn't last very long and Archie was soon on his knees beside Everly with his eyes sealed shut shaking in fear as the man held the gun to his head.

Despite what the gunman told them about closing their eyes and looking away Everly kept hers open, wishing she hadn't in the moments that followed as she watched her father shot, as she watched him fall to the floor, as she watched his blood sook his shirt and pool around his body while the gunman started to rifle through his clothes.

Everly was frozen for what felt like an eternity before she jumped to action quickly grabbing her discarded items of clothing from the booth before moving to her fathers side and placing a shirt on the wound, inwardly crying at the sight however trying her best to remain calm as her brother finally shook himself back into the present and helped her get him up so they could get him to the hospital.

The drive was fast, bumpy and scary; in her mind Everly swore that she would never enter a motor vehicle ever again after today as she swapped her completely bloodied hoodie for Archies shirt.

Adrenaline was pumping so fast that she was unable to hear anything but her inner thoughts making her jump when she noticed her father drifting off as they got closer to the hospitals enterance.

"Dad? Daddy?!" She tried shaking and slapping him awake until his eyes were open just as they finally pulled up.

Archie quickly ran out of the car and around to the passenger side, pulling open the door and with his sisters assistance getting their out and dragging him through the hospital doors screaming for help, both covered in just as much blood if not more then their injured father.

"What happened to him?" A doctor asks the Andrews children to which Haven is quick to answer.

"He was shot."

The doctor and a nurse take him out of our grip to get him onto a gurney, the nurse looking down at him asking loudly: "Sir can you hear me? What's your name?"

Finally unable to take it any longer tears start to silently fall Havens cheeks as her brother steps forward to answer.

"His names Fred Andrews."

All of what the doctors say next is nothing but a blur as we follow after, one stopping us at a pair of double doors telling us we aren't allowed to enter however have to wait.

Looking through the small squared window at our father I watch as he looks from Archie with a blank face before turning his head and giving what looks to be a small smile before we hear a long "BEEP" indicating that his heart has just stopped.

Fear grips the hearts of the Andrews twins as they watch the doctors begin to resuscitate their father, reaching their hands out to hold the others until the doctors bring him back.

However watching has become too much for them and they walk away, deciding to wait. In the meantime Archie decides to call Betty who in turn calls Veronica who calls Jughead and pretty soon the waiting room is crowded with friends trying to console the two, however it only suffocated the Andrews girl.

Done with them all she left, deciding to accept Alice Cooper's offer for a ride home and immediately bagged her clothes before jumping into the shower to get rid of the stench of blood and feeling of inevitable death.

However while she felt as if though everything was going to be alright with her father, deep down Everly felt as if though there was something else going on, something that was about to happen to her that her father was aware of.

Shaking the feeling off as she got out of the shower that nagging feeling came back as she recalled all the times her parents, the Cooper's, Jones's and many other parents in town would watch what they said around Everly.

The Andrews girl had always found it strange, especially how they seemed to know herself more then she did herself, however now she wasn't so sure.

As she heard the front door open downstairs Everly grabbed her earphones and blasted her music before laying beneath her thick duvet, falling asleep soon after her head fell upon her pillow.

However her unconscious mind was filled with the dark event that occurred mere hours earlier at had once been the place of which had held almost all her dearest memories.

Waking up with a jolt as a gun shot echoed through her ears she clutched her duvet to her chest and tore her earphones from her head with a sigh as she noticed she had slept the day away.

Quickly putting changing so she could go to the hospital in the hope her father was out of surgery, Everly stopped at her window and gazed up at the sparkling midnight sky when she swore she saw a shooting star and thought "what the hell"

Closing her eyes Everly made a wish, opening her eyes dizziness washes over the brunette like a train; quickly grabbing a hold of the windowsill to support herself until the wave of dizziness ends.

When it does she moves to lay down once more only for it to hit twice as bad, she found herself pulling herself up from the floor onto the bed in pain as the dizziness continued to hit repeatedly worse and worse until she could no longer stand the pain and passed out.
