Blank. That's all i feel. All we feel as we try to get back home with the tribe. Yes the tribe. The place " where dreams come true". More like the place where we beat your dreams and curiosity out of you. The place where one wrong thought such as lust or one wrong action such as defending a human when they are not yours can get you killed. We, Are the Dreamwalkers. We search through your head and search for what we look for. Your will. Without it you can't leave us. Some of you, are easy and become Winterwalkers. But some of you, like to be difficult, and become Scarewalkers, unbreakable wired software, that are destined leaders. I was born a Nightwalker. We're the guards of the Tribe, the hunters, and also the ones who enforce the Tribe rules. And when I was born I showed signs of all of the Walkers, Fire, Winter, Scare, Night, and Dream. When I was old enough, I got to pick which one I wanted to be. I chose Night because that was my favorite part of training. The Elders were quited disappointed that I had wanted to be a Night. But it was like it was drawing me towards a life beyond the High Walls that surround the Tribe's camp.
" Come on guy's. We'll be early if we keep up this pace" I said to the rest of the Nights. My family is the only mixed walker family. My mom is a Dream, My dad a Scare. My sisters are Fire and Winters. But I'm the only true Walker. I've reordered my life to Be a Night. I can see the gates. But I don't like this life. I'm not supposed to be here. I can feel it, the desire to run. As a Night we are all aloud to have another form, A Shifter lets us choose from Live and Myth creatures. I know what one I want to be. The Dragon. So far only Dreams, have had it as their Familiar. The Gates were getting closer now. I quicken my pace and soon the group follows suit.
I slow myself and the group down as we enter the gates, each heading to our respective report towers. I wave to my sister as I pass the forge, walking to a large black brick building. As I grow closer I steady my breathing, slowly returning it to it's original pace. I open the heavy dark oak door as I walk in, letting my eyes adjust to the soft glow from the torches in fixtures against the walls.
"Diadus! You're back, what is your report this time?" The lady at the small table in the center of the room in front of the stairs says to me as i walk towards her.
"Just the same as usual Mara, No other humans spotted within our borders. Giving the exception of the few we own here." I respond. I sit down in the chair in front of Mara's desk as she writes down what I told her. Her quill scraping across the strip if birch tree bark she uses for my reports.
"Anything new amongst the tribe I should know about before heading out?" I ask her. She looks up from my report and shrugs,
"It depends really, everything seems to be going smoothly, production in the forge and farms are slowing down as the new FireWalker and WinterWalker Initiates get used to their new life." she says absentmindedly, " You should stop by, let them know the benefits of their new responsibilities." I shrug at her suggestion and stand up to leave as I see her place my report in a wooden crate, with more reports....
