– When she was 7, HyunA tried 50 auditions to become an actress, but she failed all of them. She grew an interest for dance when she went into high school. Soon after, she passed an audition for JYP Entertainment on the first try.
– Her parents are divorced.

– She has multiple tattoos: one on her left shoulder that says "My mother is the heart that keeps me alive", two other tattoos in Latin on her right inner arm and on her lower back, a cross on her left underarm, the Hebrew word for faith on her right shoulder and a red heart on the back of her right ear.
