Color Blind

Chapter 2

     After watching hours of Netflix, my mom called me home. 

"Hey mom, I'm back!" I yelled while throwing my book bag somewhere in the living room earning me a grunt from it hitting someone. I winced and tried to crawl away without him noticing.

     "Yo! Faith! Watch where you're throwing that thing. What are you carrying, a bag of bricks??" said my brother from the shade of the dark living room. He was likely napping on the couch.

     "Sorry big bro.." I said wincing and kissed his cheek. He was wearing a tank-top and shorts. His handsome face is what attracts most but he hasn't had a single girlfriend. his obnoxiousness just add to his two-face personality.

     "Nah its fine. How are you?" he asked and hugged me.

     "Oh. He's happy now!" I thought. "I'm good. Enjoy your cat nap? You know you should move around more," I scowled him.

     He just grumbled a replied and ruffled my hair while going up to his bedroom to nap.

     I laughed to myself and made myself a sandwich . I had no clue where my mom was so I went to ask Jason. It was also to annoy him but he'll never know. I was only half way up the stairs when I heard his snoring

~A.N: That's me with my dad XD except I wake up at MIDNIGHT to the sound of that...~

     I turned on the light and pounced onto him. "WHERE'S MOM??" I asked a little to loudly.

     "IONO..." he mumbled.

     I sighed. "So she called me home just so she can leave again..." I said and laid down next to him.     

     "But she never came home..." he replied falling asleep again.

    "Really? She used the home phone to call," I said getting nervous and worried.

    "I have an idea. Lets check the call history if we can... Our phones ancient," Jason said getting up and out of bed.

     Going down the stairs I realized something. "Wait... if you're pranking me this isn't funny got it?" I told Jason. I pulled out my phone to call Leo.

     "Hey Faith. What's up?" Leo answered.

     "Leo, come over something might've happened to my mom," I said, my voice cracking.

     "On my way," he said. I heard him rushing out the door as the line ended.

     "Ok Leo's on his way," I told Jason.

     "Why~? You gonna flirt with him?" Jason teased.

     "No... He's gonna help us meanie," I pouted and pinched his ear.

     "Ok ok! Got it. Jeez..." he replied, swiping my hand away and rubbing his ear. "I know you like him though." He grinned.

     Before I could reply Leo busted through the door. What was the point of my giving him a key... I thought. Leo came and hugged me. "You okay? Where's your mom?"

     I hugged back. "Yup fine and no we didn't find him," I told him.

     "Hey lovebirds! Come look at what I found," Jason called to us. Leo blushed and ran to him with me behind him. On the phone we could tell someone had called using this phone but who? "Who called from here?" He said worriedly.

      I hugged Jason to comfort him. "Let's call her. If she doesn't pick up we'll call the police," I said trying to sound confident. Jason nodded and kissed my head. From the corner of my eye I could see jealousy flash across Leo's. I called my mom and she picked up. "OM MY GOD mom your ok. I--"

     "I'm not your mom kid," said the voice. The color drained from my face.

     "Who are you...?" I stuttered.
