Chapter One

[Riley's Point of View]

I couldn't help it. I ran to my friend, James and clutched onto his arms.

He rubbed my back and followed my other friend, Ryan, inside of the abandoned house.

Let me tell you why we were at an abandon house. Four words. Ryan loves spooky things. And of course, if Ryan wants to go do something "fun", James and I have to go too.

"C'mon guys." Ryan motioned us to come. He shone the flashlight on the door and it creeked open by itself.

I buried my head in James arm, "I don't want to go inside!" James finger came up to his lip and shushed me.

"Are you guys coming?" Ryan said anxiously. He wanted to go inside badly, but I refused.

"I'm not going." I said sternly and planted my foot on the ground. Or so I thought. "Yes you are." Ryan said and grabbed my arm, pulling me inside.

Ryan pushed me forward and a smirk spread across his face, "How 'bout you lead the way." I pushed him back, "No."

"Okay fine then, but I'm not going in front," Ryan argued. "Are you scared?" I said with a laugh. "No..." Ryan said quietly. "You're scared! Aren't you!" I cracked up in laughter. "Shut up!" Ryan yelled quietly at me.

James whispered, "Will you guys just stop arguing? For just one moment? I can't hear myself think."

I nodded and sealed my lips.

"That's better," a hushed voice said. It didn't sound like James' nor Ryan's voice. This voice was more calm. Yes, James was calm, but not this calm.

"Who said that?" I asked cautiously. "I did," the voice, that I'm pretty sure was a male, said. "Why are you here?" "Probably because of my side," the voice said calmly. I was confused, "Y-yo-your side?" The voice answered with one word, "Yes." I had goosebumps running down my arms, "W-what do you mean?"

"I mean my insanity side. My side that does not think before it does. My side that is really a demon. Don't you know?" He asked.

I shook my head. Really for no reason because he probably couldn't see me through the dark. "No." I said, trying not to freak out.

I looked behind me and my friends had vanished. I was about to explode. I felt like falling to my knees and crying, but I didn't. I ended up saying, "Continue."

"As I was saying. It's surprising that you don't know. Why is that you ask? Because everyone has that side. That side that can take over your angelic side."
