On arms, and knees, and crippled wings, Escor prostrates himself to the angel before him.

“I promise I won’t eat humans anymore, just wild animals and the occasional blood pack. Please Lyla, save me.”

The city burns around them. Every building, every car, every road is on fire.

The humans who could escape have already escaped.

The humans who could not, have already died.

All that's left are the angel, the vampire, and the burning city.

Without saying a word, Lyla turns around and crouches down, allowing the Vampire to ride her back.

With a swift movement of her silver wings, they rise high above the skyscrapers burning below.

Reaching the cityscape, Escor sinks his fangs into her spine.

They fall, crashing through glass, and rubble, and burning ground.

Lyla asks why.

To which Escor replies,

"You are compelled to save,

As I am compelled to kill,

For neither Angels nor Vampires have free will."

As Escor laughs, and Lyla cries,

Both Vampire and Angel, burn alive.
