My name is Emily, Emily Pence You could say I'm a genius, I live in New York City, and You would never believe what I have been through. I was at my house after school my school is Xavier High I'm a sophomore. I was home alone my mom and dad wouldn't home tell late dad works for Sanders Inc's mom work as a lawyer. I spent a few hours doing my normal routine of getting all my homework done and getting my chores done studying some more doing science crosswords. It was only six'o clock when I was done so I had a lot of time on my hands so I went up to my roof to do some experiments. My parents bought me a lot of different chemicals.

I love science especially chemistry and physics. I was thinking of the '80s my next-door neighbor was listing to some 80's music Miss. Emma's books were stuck in the '80s. It wasn't to lint that they 80's where popular it was only 2019. I was thinking about the music and fashion I was listening to Emmas old records while I was on the roof. I was pouring Benzyl chloride in a jar when I got a little cared away with my 80's moves and poured in a bunch of chemicals. There was a huge explosion I opened my eyes and I was perfectly fine  no bumps or bruises. I headed back down to my room and heard some music playing in so I called out

"mom? dad? are you guys home early?"

I headed down the staircase to the living room to find a middle-aged black woman with an afro yellow tank top with matching bellbottoms. She looked at me weird and said to me

"Who are you kid and what are you wearing  like barf me out"

My response  was    "Who are you and what are you doing in MY HOUSE"

"Your house YOUR HOUSE HONEY IV'E BEEN LIVING HERE FOR TWO YEARS THIS IS MY HOUSE" She responded with an attitude

I took a closer look at her outfit and hair and the living room and slowly turned back to her and asked: "what year is it?"

She gave me a strange look "Like it's 1982" she said rolling her eyes and chewing some gum loudly.

I was so shocked I ran back to the roof so confused and I realized all my stuff was gone I had nothing. What am I going to do? I thought. I have to figure out how I got here and how to get back without anyone else finding out that I'm not from here
