We walk to class and our hands brush together. I look down quickly and started blushing. I move slightly, but not too far because I hope for some odd reason that our hands might touch again. They didn't. We get into class and I sit in my regular seat in the back of the class. Once again, alone. Ms. Truman stands up from her desk when the bell rings and moves swiftly to the front of the room and her long, purple skirt drags behind her.
"Goodmorning class, today we will start our unit on plant cells." She pauses briefly to turn around and look at Garrett, who seemed extremely terrified and his pretty, green, wide eyes darted all over as he looked at the students staring back at him. "But first, I would like to introduce a new student. Garrett Walker. Garrett has moved here from Arizona. Would you like to say anything else about yourself?" She asked as she looked wide eyed at the new student. We don't get new students often. Garrett shook his head timidly. "Alright, well then you can take a seat next to Carter. Carter, would you please raise you hand so our new student knows where to go?" I raise my hand even though the shy boy was already making his way to the empty, wooden desk beside me. "Okay, well I suppose we should start class. This is what a plant cell looks like...." She kept speaking in her wildly enthusiastic voice. But I couldn't keep my eyes off of the green eyed boy. I couldn't help but notice how his sand colored hair shined in the sunlight coming from the window. Ding! The bell rang in its irritating tone. I grab my stuff and I wait for Garrett to pick up his books and we walk out together. He showed me his schedule and we had 3 other classes together. That's not enough. Why am I acting like this? I just met this kid and I'm head over heels in love already. "I'll see you at lunch." I speak looking at him. He looks back at me and I melt. My face is getting hot. "Okay, see you then!" He says in his oddly joyful voice and skipped away. What a strange kid. I shake my head and start walking to math.
