Ally's POV

"THIS is your summer job?"

I rolled my eyes and helped the next customer. Annika should know better than anyone how I never wanted to work here again. Unfortunately, it was the only job available for the summer. So, I'm stuck with playing ice cream girl.

"Can I get a chocolate rainbow swirl?" the girl asked. I nodded and took the money, sending a glare at Annika.

"Ally, you hate this place." she stated, "You never bought ice cream here since your modelling fiasco. And now you work here?!"

I sighed and filled a cup with rainbow and chocolate ice cream, "A job is a job, Annie. I'm pretty sure you heard about my mom."

Annika rolled her eyes, "Your mom is totally overreacting."

I shook my head, "No, apparently she's not my mom anymore. According to the law anyway."

"What about Lou? I'm sure he could get you a job." she suggested.

I shook my head furiously, "No. He can't. I suck at hair, I suck at makeup, and my clothes are a completely different style. Louis can't get me a job. He's already tried."

"But-"

"Annika, the boys aren't going to be here forever. They'll go on tours, and we will stay here. And then every once in a while, they get to come home, and we can see them." I snapped. I handed the girl her ice cream and she gave me an odd look before leaving.

"Did you at least get that letter yet?" she asked.

I shook my head, "That's never a good thing. I don't think I got in."

"Don't be silly, Ally. Of course you got in."

"But what if I didn't?"

Annika didn't respond, and I nodded, "Then I'll be just another low life, just barely scraping by."

"Ally, don't talk like that. You got in. It's a preforming art college, and you opened for One Direction."

I shrugged and grabbed my coat, signing out, and putting the jacket on. It was a cloudy day, as usual.

"Is Niall in town yet?" I asked as I put my helmet over my head.

"Ya, he texted me saying he just got here. Is it okay if he comes over?" she asked, getting into her beautiful blue sports car. I nodded, and mounted my sleek black motorcycle, revving the engine with a smile.

"I'm pretty sure it won't be a problem. Harry and Lou practically live with us. I'm sure a leprechaun won't be half as bad as them. Oh, except you are on groceries." I said before she closed the door.

We drove back to the apartment, with me in the lead, and parked in our spaces. I still can't believe I live here. I sighed and walked through the lobby, hearing lots of "Hello, Miss McRay" and "Welcome back, Miss McRay". I hate it SO much.

I sighed again, and ignored every single one of them. Annika and I got into the elevator and hit the number 3 button.

The doors dinged open again when we reached our floor, and we made our way to our flat. Ya, that's what they call it here. A flat.
