Love in the Air

Mahie got up next day and Dev was still stuck in her mind . She did not know if she really loved him or not and even if she did , she did not know whether Dev had a soft corner for her or not . She was just stuck in these thoughts when her phone suddenly started ringing .

Mahie : Who can it be so early in the morning ?

Mahie checked her phone and she was surprised to see that it was Dev . She felt butterflies in her stomach once again . She could not understand  what to do . "Should I receive the call or not,"she thought .
Well finally she did receive the call.

Dev:Hey Mahie . What's up .

Mahie:What could possibly be "up" so early in the morning ?

Dev:Oh I see . You were sleeping .
Actually I am used to getting up early in the morning . (Smiles)

Mahie:So why did you call ........

Dev:(Interrupting excitedly)I was thinking we could have some coffee today you know.Yesterday you were in a hurry so I was thinking that may be you and I ......

Mahie:Are you asking me out on a date?

Mahie hangs up immediately and scolds herself to be such a stupid to ask such a thing from Dev . On the other hand Dev , caught offguard , thought about what Mahie had just said . He hung up .
Thinking about Mahie's words which suddenly became more precious and more beautiful than all the jewels of the world , a handsome smile built on his face .
Dev called back Mahie . Mahie was still lost in her thoughts when her phone rang up . She received the call .

Mahie:He..ll...o Dev !Um .... I ....Um

Dev:Don't say anything , just meet me at the coffee shop .

Mahie:Um.....ok.

Mahie got up , washed her face , combed her hair . She opened her closet and started pondering over what to wear . She chose a beautiful black T shirt with jeans and a matching jacket . She looked stunning in these clothes .

She hurried out of the house to the coffee shop . Today , Payal was a bit surprised to see her little sister wake up so early . "I think my little sister is really in love ",she thought to herself .

Well Mahie entered the coffee shop and saw Dev sitting there wearing his handsome smile as usual,waiting for her . She went and sat down on the chair infront of him .

Mahie:Dev....um....look I ... just .....

Dev placed his index finger on Mahie's lips which seemed to be as pretty and as delicate as a rose petal . Mahie felt herself getting lost in a fantasy . This single touch of love had made her melt . How she had been longing for this sort of love for years . Since her parents had died .

Dev:Look Mahie it's very simple . I'll ask you a question and you are gonna tell me the truth . Ok .

Mahie:Ok. (Mahie replied with an assuring smile )

Dev:Mahie (Dev looked straight into her eyes) Do you love me .

Something got into Mahie . A feeling of being protected . A feeling of reassurance in Dev's smile . An urge to trust him more than anybody else . A belief that Dev could give him all the love of the world . That he would support her through all thick and thin and help her get what she wanted .

Mahie:Yes ! I do .

Dev , on hearing these precious words , took out a small heart shaped box with a complementary black silk ribbon sitting on top.Dev opened the box and there resting in it were two beautiful platinum rings . Mahie was so excited . Her first ever proposal ! She almost jumped up from her seat . She couldn't take her eyes off those rings . They say that:

          "Simplicity is the
             ultimate sophistication."

The beautiful rings proved this to be true .

Now came the extremely romantic moment . Dev knelt down on his knee and held the rings infront of his beloved pearl and proposed her in the most romantic way . Mahie accepted the proposal at once .

Dev:But Mahie I just wanna tell you one thing . Don't tell about this to anyone , not even to your sister . We'll just wait for the right time .

Mahie:Yeah Dev . I understand .

Mahie picked up her purse and got ready to leave . Dev gave her a goodbye kiss on her right cheek . Mahie blushed . "Goodbye Dev . See you tomorrow . Ok " , she said .
"Sure sugarplum" , replied Dev and Mahie could just feel her heart melting out at Dev's charms .

But one thing bothered Mahie . The ring .
" I think I have seen it somewhere before ..... Uffo Mahie . It's such a simple ring . You could have seen it anywhere " , she thought to herself .
