After school I make it to the locker room without seeing Jake once. I also haven't seen Nick either which sucks because I did myself up for no reason. Before I walk into the locker room though, I hear, "Superstar!" I turn around and see Nick run my way.

"Oh no don't tell me Jake rubbed off on you. And to think I was starting to like you." I say with a laugh because I can't believe I said it.

"Oh really?" he said and smirked. Oh, shit I think I'm going to faint.

"What can I do for you Mr. Davis?" I say

"So, I heard there is a volleyball game tonight?"

"You heard correctly. What about it?"

"I was wondering if well, if you maybe wanted to grab some food after? I know you probably will have something else to do but I'd like to get to know you a little better." He says and blushes. Omg he's so fucking cute.

"I wish I could. My parents are a little strict when it comes to after game family time." I don't mention how family time is really just dad making me feel like shit. "What about after the football game on Friday? I got an invite to this party it would be cool if you came with me?" I say because I can't let this opportunity go to waste.

"Yo Davis! Get your ass in the locker-room!" Someone yells and its Jake. I give him a death glare and Nick starts walking backwards.

"Count me in. Good luck tonight!" and I get another faint worthy smirk before he walks into the locker room. Jake is still standing there, and he gives me this look like he doesn't even recognize me and then stalks off into the boy's locker room.

It's not like Jake always wishes me luck before my games, but he usually talks to me beforehand. I don't remember the last time he didn't give me a hug or mess up my hair before I went on the court. So today when I didn't even see him in the stands, I instantly feel sick. I don't remember the last time I felt this nervous before a game and this isn't even a hard team. I keep scanning the stands and see my parents along with Jessica and feel some relief. I jog over and take the bleacher steps two at a time.

Before I get the chance to ask, Jessica says, "Where's Jakey? He wouldn't miss one of your games?"

"I don't know where he is. I was about to ask you the same thing." I know she is reading my emotions.

"Hey don't worry about him. He is probably caught up with the rest of the team." I just nod and head to the bench. I don't know If I'll be able to play as well without him.

"Ray!" Lilly yells at me from across the court. She points into the stands and I see Nick with a big sign that says "Kill 'em Super Star!" He is waving at me and I immediately blush like crazy and can't help but fill my face with a huge smile. I stand up and head over to the stands.

"I think you misspelled Rachel." I say with a smile.

"Oh, my bad. Where I'm from this is how we spell it." I get the signature Nick Davis smirk and can't help but smile back.

"Thank you for coming." I say.

"I wouldn't miss a chance to see a legend with my own two eyes." He teases.

"I don't know who you are getting your information from, but I think they need to get checked." I laugh and wave as I head back to the bench to start warmups. Lilly grabs my arm and jumps up and down and squeals. I can't wipe the smile off my face. Maybe I don't need Jake to do this.

I scream and pump my fist as I end the match with my 20th kill of the game. I was on fire tonight and I can't believe Jake didn't show up at all. We run into the middle of the court and cheer to celebrate our win. The fan section joins us again and this time instead of Jake running over to me, Nick turns me around and has the most excited look on his face. His perfect teeth make his perfect face shine with happiness and I can't contain my smile any more.
