Life Goes On

Something for everyone

This is just something I wrote for myself but decided to share.
This is dedicated to:
Everyone. Everyone who has dipped into darkness, or who is climbing, or who is on the platform. However you got there, or where you are, this is for you.

  

Life Goes On

Life seems meaningless
Darkness swirls around us
Always coming close
Dipping in and out of those around us
Making them go crazy from the pain
They hurt themselves and others
Finding consolation from the things they shoot into their bloodstream
Getting more and more addicted
The more they confine in it
They kill
They scream
They cry
No one can save the world
No one has the power to do so
So we spiral
And we keep spiraling
Until our life
Finally falls
And when it hits the bottom
Of a seemingly endless chasm
We find the others who have fallen too
And we get better
Or we try
And with the help of those around us
We climb
Or we dig
And as we do so, we lose some
Some choose to fall back down, and they never get back to climbing
Some lower their pickaxes and their shovels
Or they raise them higher
And start to climb
Deciding they've had enough of digging
But those who climb never reach the top.
Never get back to the life they led
Before they fell
But they LIVE
They find their own way to do so
They stop worrying about climbing
They realize they will never reach the top
They know there is no way out
There is no top to this neverending hole
They are fine with that
They reach a platform
Where everyone is flawed
Everyone has cracks in their soul
But they live
And they find happiness
They no longer have the darkness around their soul
Though some never make it to this platform in their life
And some have never left
They all know and allow the thought that their life won't change
Much
That's when they realize
That if they start to give in
To the darkness around
They can almost never move on
And they know then
That if they never climb
Or if they do
Life will always
Go
On
