Hi, I'm Marigold. And I'm about eleven years old. I'm.... an orphan.. And I hate the orphanage. I just want to escape. But besides that, I have a decent life. Even knowing I just said I hate where I am. But it's better than nothing, I guess. Every night around 12:45 am I try to escape and go out for a walk. People always stare at me when I do. And I know why. You don't need to tell me. And if you don't know why, it's because I have heart as eyes and a different tail than other animals have. And I know exactly what you're thinking.. I think. "Why don't I just run away permanently?" Because where else would I go? Seriously, come on. Just because I'm eleven doesn't mean I'm an idiot. I'm actually pretty intelligent... Okay, yea, that's a lie. But still. Click, Click. I look towards the clock. "11:58 pm" I stare with a dull face, waiting. Now that I think about it, it's silent. Too silent. At this time I at least hear kids whispering to each other. It's never quiet at this particular time. This is my cue. I'm going early. When I go out I usually bring some supplies if I get bored. And from here and there I bring a blanket because it occasionally gets cold. And the season right now is about winter. I honestly have a very strong liking of winter. I adore when it snows. I love the vision of the snow glistening as it falls. It's just exactly like a pile of white fluffy cotton with a luster of admirable pearly glitter. I snapped out of thought as I realized I was sitting up from bed, glaring deeply into the wall as another kid was also beaming her eyes at me. "What are you looking at? You aren't supposed to be in this room." I questioned with a low and calming voice. "Oh, sorry," the dog replied with a bit of a uneasy voice. "It's okay, but can you, like," I said as I trailed off, "get out? Please?" I finished my sentence. "Oh, yea, of course! Sorry!" They said as they walked out as you could heard their feet hit the polished wooden floor every time they took a step. I could predict the weather was icy outside, so I gripped onto my blanket and took a flashlight and scarf as well. I tried to be as quiet as I can. I walked towards the exit door. But then I jumped at the feeling of a tight grip on my left shoulder. I felt the hand attempt to turn me around, and it worked. I'm a very weak kid. I couldn't even hurt a kid my age if I wanted to. "Marigold Kerler! where do you think you're going?"
