We rode a few more rides and decided to call it a day. I was getting tired of being in the sun and honestly quite bored of the same old rides. Not to mention, I was annoyed with having to drag Reece's ass around all day. I was starting to wonder if Reece even liked the carnival or if he just wanted to get out of the house, that would make sense...

We made it back to the truck after a few trial and errors of which row we were in. That parking lot was huge! And when we walked in I was basically unconscious. Nevertheless, Reece had a photographic memory and I just followed him around until the truck came into view, then I ran ahead of him, a sudden burst of energy coming into me, and raced him to the truck. As soon as I started running he sprinted after me shouting 'hey, no fair!' I just giggled and reached my hand out to touch the truck first, signifying that I had won and found the truck first but he was faster than me and had longer arms. His palm slammed onto the truck first and my hand landed on top of his. I groaned and pulled away. My hand still tingling from the hard vibration of his hand hitting the metal. I smiled and got in the passenger seat and immediately held my hand over the radio, claiming the music choice for the ride home. He shook his head, put the keys in, and backed out of the parking spot to drive home as I started the music.

"Can't win everything you dork" I hissed and kicked my feet up on the dashboard. He shot me a sideways glance then focused back on the road.

"You're the worst." He mumbled sarcastically.

I stared down at the floor of the truck while the music I choose played distant in the background. I was too focused on my thoughts to hear Reece ask if I wanted ice cream and too zoned out to notice Reece tapping his finger on the steering wheel to the beat of the music. All I could think about was three years ago.

"Here, Arianna, take this." He waved a two scooped, strawberry banana ice cream in a waffle cone in front of my face and threatened to wipe it on my nose until I took it.

"Huh? Oh, thanks!" I exclaimed and snatched it from his hands, immediately digging in, "you know me so well, this is just what I needed." I felt my heart flutter as I said this, we really did know each other. I mean we should after 12 years together. I glanced over at Reece, who had ice cream on his lip and an overwhelmed look on his face as he tried to drive and keep the ice cream from melting at the same time.

"You," I paused and pathetically attempted to hold back a giggle, "look hot."

"Nobody asked you, eat your ice cream and go back to la la land." He grunted.

"Just speaking my mind, I do feel better after eating something though. That sun is deadly." I huffed and turned up the radio, hoping to lose myself in the music instead of my thoughts for the rest of the ride home.
