Sudden Revelation

It was the last week of school, and like every other high school, we were doing absolutely nothing. I pulled out my phone and began to scroll through my past messages. Oh look! Bridges just texted me.

Bridges: [Hey, I'm running late this morning. Can you tell Ms. Jamie that?]

[Yeah, sure. What happened?]

Bridges: [Nothing. Just tell her.]

[Okay. Rude much.]

Of course, no reply. If there was anything I hated, it was being left on read.

With Bridges on my mind, I begin to daydream. To my surprise, I thought of Bridges. What!? I jerked out of my daydream and began to wonder. Did I like him? How? When? Where? Once the shock settled, I began to gush. I couldn't wait to tell Ann. I turned to Ann and pulled her into the hallway with me. "Ann, I have something to tell you."

"What?" Ann questioned. Just then, Diamond, the school's rumour mill, walked by. I quickly shut up, not wanting my secret to be let out.

"I'll tell you later."

"Nooooo. You always say that, but then you forget it," whined Ann.

"No, hun. That's you!" I pointed at her.

Unfortunately for me, Ann refused to bug off. She kept asking me about my earlier conversation. By the end of the day, I was fed up and told her about my sudden revelation. To my surprise, she said, "I already knew that."

"What!? How? I didn't even know that until this morning!" I exclaimed.

"Girl! I can tell by the way you kept texting him and talking to him."

"Yeah, but that was only as a friend. I didn't like him then. How ironic! I said that I couldn't imagine liking him because he was Bridges, but guess what. I like him now. Just my luck."

"So what're you going to do?" Ann asked.

"Nothing. I'll just keep talking to him. I doubt he'd even like me. I think he likes Cheyenne or Haley, " I sadden spoke.

"He would be dumb if he didn't like you. You're a freaking genius, really pretty, honest, and nice. Well...I don't know about the nice part. " she trailed off.

"Ann! I am nice. I'm just a little too blunt sometimes, " I exclaimed.

"Sure....whatever you say. Blunt is definitely one thing you two have in common."

"You got that right. We both are pretty blunt." I said.

"Girl, just keep talking to him. I'm sure he will like you."

"I doubt it. Even if he doesn't like me, he's a really funny." Just as I stated that, the bell rang. Thank God! Monday couldn't have ended any faster.

"Bye Ann!"

"Bye, Tess. Text me!"
