Evan strapped the helmet tightly on my head. He swung his leg over the bike and grasped the handles. I clutched his waist as the motor rumbled and we sped off into the night. The wind rushed past my face as my long blonde hair whipped through the air. This was only our second date, but the way he looked at me, I just knew it was true love. We met at the town diner. Just another average Friday night, or so I thought. I walked in to find him sitting all alone in a booth in the corner. My first instinct was to walk the other way and find myself an empty booth, but as I looked around there were no other booths open. So I slowly made my way over to his table."Hey," I said awkwardly, "Do you mind if I sit here, there are no other tables open?"
"Sure," he said as his eyes stared up at my face, or was he looking at my hair?
"By the way my names Bridget, but everyone calls me Bridge," I said sitting down
"Nice to meet you Bridge, I'm Evan," He replied still staring at my face of hair.
"So... are you waiting for someone?" I asked trying to ignore his weird expression, it looked like he was trying to solve a math equation or something.
"No, just me," he finally looked me in the eyes, and that's when it happened. The fireworks or sparks or whatever you want to call them, they happened.
"Want to order some food?" I asked
"Sounds good to me," he said as I picked up the menu
Soon we were ordering our food and making small talk as we waited for its arrival. When the milkshakes arrived I quickly grabbed mine and began to drink. Suddenly my pesky blonde hair dipped right into my delicious drink of chocolate delight.
"Oh, I'm such a clutz," I said as I took my hair out of the shake and cleaned it off with a napkin.
"I totally get it, I'm always spilling things. Here let me take that drink filled with your hair, and you can have mine." He said as he switched the shakes, not giving me a second to protest.
"Really, you don't have to-" but I couldn't finish he was already slurping up the shake with pure delight.
So I sat there for who knows how long and continued to talk with Evan. We ate our food and decided to head out after a few hours of just straight talking. Evan paid the bill, no matter how many times I tried to pay my share. As we were leaving we exchanged phone numbers and then were on our way. I didn't hear from him until the next Friday when he texted me at exactly 9:15. I was laying in my bed scrolling through Instagram feed when the message popped up. I instantly replied, maybe a little too fast. He read my message and we continued to text over the time period of two weeks. And now I found myself here, on the back of his motorcycle zooming down the street.
Suddenly I heard the sound of screeching rubber and was jolted as the bike lurched to the side. We began skidding out of control and the next thing I knew I found myself lying on the ground. I glanced over to search for Evan but had no luck. I tried to stand up but a sharp pain shot up my leg sending me to the ground. And as I hit the ground I heard the bang of metal and saw something flying towards me, then everything went black.
