An Aspect of Nature

The sky, you decided long ago, deserved to be gazed at for it is just the perfect shade of blue that makes your heart swell with some pride for living in this world. In every thought that expresses a crisis of some sort, you find yourself perhaps staring out of a window longingly, or maybe even venturing outdoors to enjoy the purity of air itself in an explicit relationship between nature and yourself.
You lean with your back against the smooth wood of the bench that had found itself placed in the entrance of the popular city park. Your hair tickles your cheeks as the wind brushes itself against you flirtatiously.
'If the outdoors were a person,' you mused, 'My lover would be in sound trouble.'
You sneak a look to him now, and he sits with his legs crossed beside you, an arm wrapped around your shoulders. His hair is absorbing the brunt of the sun and you smile at how content he is with his worn book poised in the hand that does not fiddle with the hem of your sleeve.
Including him in your afternoon walks was a spectacular decision on your end. When your relationship had proven to be much more than merely platonic, he began to notice your small quirk that is the love of the sun. You even proved to have a fondness for the nightlife also. He enjoyed the smile on your face perhaps too much when he had suggested a vacation of camping what seemed ages ago. Saying he enjoys your smile is a bit of an understatement. He chooses the word, "Cherish," often.
Even now, lounging about lazily in the park, he catches your eyes with his own and offers his own grin to match.
"What are you smiling at?" he asks as he raises a brow. "Though, I'm not complaining."
"I just love you," you state for both your pleasure and his own.
Saying the words aloud always cause your heart to skip a beat.
"I love you too," he chuckles back and he presses a gentle kiss to your forehead.
What is love, but an aspect of nature?
