Solicitude

She was exhausted. The emergency unit had been crazy over the weekend and all the staff had to pull extra hours. She was so tired that it was surprising to her that she found her bus card on the first attempt when normally it takes a few tries before she locates the correct place in her backpack. Maybe this was the universe having mercy on her after that 24 hour shift. As she tiredly left through the main doors she nodded to the others who were also finally leaving after all the chaos had died down and calm had been restored. Some of the nursing staff had even worked a full 48 hours.

Sighing, she boarded the bus looking forward to the warm shower that she planned on having before going to bed. She pulled out her phone to call her boyfriend, only to remember that it was died some time ago and that she hadn't found time to charge it. Instead she leaned back in her seat and watch Seoul's night scene come to life for the bus window.

The smell of delicious food wafted down the corridor as she unlocked her apartment. It made her wish that someone would be home waiting for her with a home-cooked meal too. But the only person who would do that for her was still on Japan and would only be returning tomorrow. Oh, how she missed him.

It was as if her brain switched to autopilot the moment her aching feet met the inside of her fluffy pink bunny slippers. The hot water of the shower was perfect against her aching muscles and the minty scent of her shampoo was a welcome relief to her tired senses. Afterwards she settled down on her bed to blow dry her hair and sipped on a cup of chamomile tea she must've made before heading to shower.

The tea combined with her pure exhaustion and the warmth from the hairdryer proved to be too much for her. She leaned back, hair still damp, tea half finished, hairdryer still in hand, feet still on the floor and closed her eyes.

I'll just rest for a minute. she thought as sleep claimed her.

Her dreams were full of him. Of his whispered chuckles, of his gentle hands that dwarfed hers, of his soft kisses and the secure feeling of being wrapped up in his arms as she slept.

She woke up starving. This often happened on days when she came home too tired to be bothered about food. Freeing her right arm from under the covers she blindly reached for her phone that was charging on her bed side table. Except, she couldn't quite reach.

It was then, as she tried to move closer to the edge of the bed, that she became acutely aware of the heavy weight across her waist and the vice-like grip that held her in place and the firm chest that had become her pillow.

Seokjin

He's here. But they were only supposed to get here tomorrow. But what if tomorrow is today? But it's dark outside.

Oh lord! What if tomorrow is yesterday?

All thoughts of food forgotten.

Panic flooded her at the thought of having slept through half of the long-awaited weekend with him, especially when the last time they saw each other was three weeks ago before Bangtan left for their tour of Japan.

This panic led her to struggle futilely against him as she tried to get off the bed. There was so much she had wanted to do. She had planned on cooking him dinner and she still needed to shop for ingredients.

"Fuck" she muttered, in quiet exasperation as she failed to wriggle out from under his arm yet again.

"You know baby, with the way you're moving right now, I'd love to, but I think we need to get some food in you first." his voice was deep and gruff with sleep.

When his lips grazed the top of her head, her heart stuttered but she froze. As soon as his grip on her waist slackened, however, she was burying herself in his embrace.
