The puzzle of the pieces keep floating in my head. Heart dumping loud between my ears, while drops of salty sweat rolls down. Lungs consumed with smokeㅡ I cough hard into my hand. Blood decorates my torso.
The ground rumbles underneath, unable to send relief. My eyes make rapid movements, keeping clear from danger.
"Jack!" Roverㅡ while gripping on to his bloody wounded, limps over to me. He spared a short glare towards me before looking back up to the dusty sky, "We must go to the shelter!"
My legs lays motionless on the ground. Dark red blood covered my pants, "Noㅡ!" My breath became short in distress, "It's not safe!" I look down at my chest. Leveling up and down, trying to match the pace of my heart. I use all of my strength to raise my voice, "Rover, listen to meㅡ"
My lungs jumps, making blood spit out my mouth. Vision becoming less vivid than before, "Go! Go back to the shelter!" My lungs stings. My nose burns as I exhale the heavy smoke out, "Go without me. Be safe..." Nails tearing into my palm, I try to resist the torturing sensation at my waist. My heavy shoulders now became light.
"Jack! Jack!" Rover yells. His blood drenched fist pounds my arm. Although I can't feel it's pain, sharp pulse runs up my spine.
"Rover," I furiously shut my eyes. Salty tears flush down my cheek. The destiny I once knew, was fading away.
"Jack," the voice of Rover was low and cracked. Resisting, my eyes forced themselves to open and look upon him.
My chest feels heavy and my arms feels detached. The face of Rover made my lips trembled. "Go," another tainted tear streams down.
Rover's dirty blood and tears fall onto my forehead. It stabbed me more than arrow that pierced me. My eyes can not stay dry, can not look away, "Go Rover, Go!" with all might, I bring force to my fist and slam it into Rover's face, "Get out of here!"
The ground rumbles again.
With glassy eye, Rover stands to his feet and runs away from me. Beside me lays a puddle of his blood.
I shift my body and lay in it. It reeked of death and no hope.
Through my eyes, I begin to see while, and the burning sensation in my lung starts the dismissed. My body falls weak... heart rate decreases. There's no hope. Puzzle never solved.
