*Lydia's point of view*
I sit with Callie eating my food. "Why won't you just talk to Corbyn?", Callie asks. I glare at her and turn away. "Come on Lydia, I thought you two were supposed to be best friends", Callie says. "I thought so too but clearly Corbyn and I weren't on the same page", I snap irritated. I instantly feel bad for snapping at her. Callie hasn't brought Corbyn up in awhile because she knows it makes me moody. "The fight was stupid", Callie says. "Yeah, I know", I mumble. "Then why won't you just talk to him?", Callie asks. "Because it isn't that simple. I obviously irritated him and if he wanted to talk to me he would have already texted", I explain. Callie stares at me with a familiar expression. Callie and I are so close that she has the ability to read me like a book. "And I don't even have his number anymore", I add. "Fine", Callie sighs letting the topic go. I'm glad she let it go easily this time.I was heartbroken when Corbyn and I didn't make up. I was really hoping he would text me back and apoligize. There was no way I would apologize. It didn't feel like my fault at the time. I thought Corbyn was being selfish and I wasn't going to apologize for something I didn't do. Maybe I really was in the wrong for not telling him about Leo. It didn't really feel important seeing as he was with Christina. There's nothing I can do about it now. It happened and that really sucks.
Callie and I finish our food. I was busy thinking so we ate in silence. "We have our nail appointment in five minutes so we should leave now", Callie says. I agree and we throw away our trash. We walk to the nail salon in the mall. We're greeted when we enter. Thinking about Corbyn upset me. I'm still in a decent mood but I would have been more excited about getting my nails down with Callie if she didn't mention him. Maybe it is time for us to make up. I can at least try.
"Cheer up Lydia", Callie says nudging me. "Will you buy me Starbucks if I cheer up?", I question. "And I'll buy you cookies", Callie adds. "Deal", I agree. Callie and I talk as we get our nails done. I get a pinkish white color because that's what I always choose. I like the simple yet cute vibes it sends. My spirits slowly get lifted talking to Callie and knowing that my hands will look glamorous. That's a strange way to think of hands but fake nails are gorgeous.
When the lady is done I admire them. She did a better job than the lady that does my nails back in Florida. A lot of things are different here in L.A. though. I pay for myself and Callie. Callie and I take turns paying for our nails. I guess it just brings us a tad bit closer than we already are. I'm not sure if it's possible to get any closer to her. I'm positive that if we stopped being best friends I'd have to commit a homicide because she knows enough to ruin my life.
"Let's go get your Starbucks", Callie says as we walk out the salon. I notice my pocket doesn't feel heavy. "Wait", I say stopping my tracks. I touch my back pockets. Empty. I take off my small backpack and go through it. I pray my phone is somewhere in my backpack. I sit on the ground and empty my whole backpack out. Nothing. My phone is no where in sight. "Check your bag", I beg Callie. When I look up she's already going through her own stuff. "Nothing", Callie sighs. I shove everything back inside my backpack and rush to the salon. I ask if they found my phone but they don't have it either. I can feel panic rising. If someone stole it I think I might kill someone.
"Let's go back to the restaurant", Callie suggests. "Good idea", I agree. We go to the restaurant and ask if they have seen my phone. When they say they don't have it I can feel my life falling apart. It's not because I'm obsessed with my phone and need it to properly function. It's because the picture of my dog and cat are all on there and I never bothered to make sure they were properly backed up and saved.
"My dog and cat are gone!", I exclaim as we exit the restaurant. I start to pace. I frown upset to have lost such good pictures and memories. "Find my iPhone!", I gasp. Callie looks at me confused. "Fine my iPhone", I repeat. Her eyes widen and her lips form a smile when she understands. She enters my information. We get in the car and follow the directions to my phone. "I'm getting my cat and dog back!", I cheer happily in the car. Callie laughs and joins my cheering. We start chanting about my dog and cat. My cat Harriet and my dog Phantom are very photogenic pets and I'm thankful for that.
Callie pulls up to a house. It's big and looks gorgeous from the outside. Why would the person steal my phone? From the looks of it they probably have a different phone for each day of the week. "Should I get my water gun so we can threaten them?", Callie asks. "Yes, of course", I say. She grabs her water gun from the back and fills it up with water from a water bottle. "They better hand over the phone so I don't kill them all with my water gun skills", Callie says. "Or I can slap them", I add. Callie shrugs and nods.
We walk to the front of the house. I knock on the door. I wanted to pound on it but Callie said they would ignore us if I did. I can hear arguing. I wait impatiently for the theif to open the door. I'm curious to see their face for some reason. When they open in my jaw drops. "Lydia?", Daniel asks suprised. "Theif!", I accuse.
