(this took forever I'm so sorry, but now this short story is finally complete. A big thank you to everyone who actually made it this far. I love you all!)
(also small warning: this contains smut)
The whole way to Namjoon's apartment Jungkook had felt sure of himself. Without doubting for a second he had taken the next tramway and with fast steps, he had walked from the station to Namjoon's place. But with every step up the stairs the realisation what he was about to do sunk deeper. When he had finally reached Namjoon's door he was about to turn around, walk down the stairs again and forget everything about it.
But it was one thing to completely mess up once and then run away, trying again and only making it to the doorstep was even more pathetic and his friends would never let him hear the end of it. So Jungkook reluctantly raised his hand and pressed the doorbell. As soon as he heard the sound of the doorbell he pulled back his finger as if he had burned himself.
"Did you forget something?", Namjoon asked in surprise when he saw Jungkook on his doorstep. Quickly Jungkook shook his head if there was anything he had left behind at Namjoon's place it was his pride.
"So why are you here then?", Namjoon asked again, his voice sounded skeptical. His eyebrows were raised and Jungkook felt like fleeing back down the stairs.
"Well certainly not for the tea", Jungkook said jokingly while trying to force the most authentic smile he could somehow put on. Maybe a little joke would help to lighten up the mood. Judging from Namjoon's unchanged expression the plan didn't seem to be working too well. It wasn't too late yet to just leave town and start a new life under a different name.
"Do you want to come in?", Namjoon finally asked when the silence had become almost unbearable and Jungkook didn't need to be asked twice.
This time Jungkook took his time with taking off his shoes and instead of just kicking them away like last time he neatly set them down next to the other shoes on the floor. Meanwhile he could feel Namjoon's gaze in his neck the whole time. So far none of them had said another word and honestly, Jungkook didn't really know how to start the conversation. But luckily Namjoon took that burden from him.
"Come on sit down, or do you want to talk in the hallway?", he asked once Jungkook got up again. With a silent nod, Jungkook agreed but Namjoon had already turned around. Quickly Jungkook followed him. To Jungkook's surprise Namjoon led him into his bedroom and not the kitchen, where he plopped himself down on his bed. Jungkook remained in the doorframe, reluctant to just sit down and only when Namjoon patted the empty space next to himself and gave Jungkook and encouraging look he finally complied. Yet he left just a bit of distance between himself and Namjoon.
"So Jungkook, what can I do for you?", Namjoon asked.
"About last night..." Jungkook started but immediately interrupted himself. That was an incredibly stupid way of starting the conversation.
"Ah, you're still worried that I'll go around telling people about it? If so you can rest assured, I'm not that kind of person", Namjoon explained and Jungkook shook his head energetically.
"No, I wouldn't worry about that at all", Jungkook stated adding a mental 'at least not when it comes to you'.
"So what are you doing here then?"
Yeah, what actually. Should he just get straight to the point and ask Namjoon to give him a second chance? No, that was too desperate even by Jungkooks current standards. There had to be some way to start this conversation in a more subtle way. Maybe he should just start by asking a different question.
