When I went to bed it wasn't like any other night. The next morning, I woke up in a car that wasn't mine, in clothes that aren't mine and there was a bag of money that wasn't mine on the seat next to me. I heard sirens closing in all around and I got nervous. My hands started to sweat and I could feel my pulse racing. My heartbeat increased and my vision started to blur. I glanced into the driver's seat very slowly and I saw my best friend Jasmine. I immediately calmed down. Then all of a sudden, last night's events rushed back to me.

One week earlier. I walk down the hall laughing at something that Jasmine said as we go meet up with Amanda and Alyssa. It's currently lunchtime and we always eat together. As we walk into the cafeteria I see my crush, Aiden, talking to some random skank bitch, well she wasn't Random but I hated her. Her name is Jessica. We've hated each other since kindergarten when she threw her apple juice at me because I was on "her swing". at recess. She was really annoying, but only to me. She touched his arm flirtatiously and I scoffed and rolled my eyes.

"I Hate her so much," I said as we walked by.

"We know Emerald, you've hated her since kindergarten, we know the story," Amanda claimed annoyed.

"I don't get why you like Aiden so much, he gives me a bad vibe," exclaimed Jasmine. "Something about him is off, weird."

"That's just because you thought you saw something that you didn't see." I roll my eyes.

"I swear when I biked past his house I saw the shadow of a person being stabbed through his window."

"He could have easily been playing around with one of his friends, " Alyssa suggests.

"That did not look friendly at all."

"Whatever Jasmine." We sat down at our usual table and started talking about something different.  After a while, I realized that I really had to pee. Ugh. the bathroom is so far away.

"Hey guys, I'm going to head to the bathroom" As I get up, I don't see Jessica walking towards me with a scorching cup of coffee in her hands. When she got near me she threw her cup of coffee at me. The drink hit me in the face and splattered all over my shirt. It burned a lot.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry," she says in a mocking tone. She walks away laughing as I stand there shocked.  I look around and notice that some kids from a table next to me recorded the whole thing. I run out of the cafeteria with tears in my eyes. As I'm running to the bathroom someone catches me by my arm.

"Just let me go, " I say trying to yank my arm away.

" Well, that wouldn't be very nice of me to leave you all by yourself." I turn around because I wouldn't miss that voice anywhere. I come face to face with Aiden.

"Sorry I thought you were Jasmine." I look down at the floor and wipe some of my tears away. As I look back up I notice his hand is still on my arm. I look him in the eye then look back at his arm and notice a cool looking tattoo peeking out from his sleeve.

"Is that real," I ask grabbing his arm with my free hand. He quickly pulls his sleeve down. Aiden and I used to be super close, but when we got to high school, he became popular and I didn't so we just drifted away from each other.

"We should get that coffee cleaned up off of you." he changed the subject so fast that I didn't have time to react. He walked me to the bathroom and waited outside for me.

When I walked into the bathroom no one was in there luckily. I grabbed a wet paper towel and tried to get the coffee off of my shirt. When I realized it wasn't coming out I gave up. I looked at myself in the mirror and surveyed my appearance. My light brown eyes were a little red and I had a gigantic coffee stain on my shirt. My big curly black hair had coffee in it. I just want to go home. I walk out of the bathroom to ask Aiden to take me home when I see a sketchy person talking to Aiden. I quickly ducked back behind the wall to listen to the conversation.
