I remember when she was happy

when she smiled and meant it

when she said she was fine, and it was true

I remember when she laughed

when she beamed like the sun

when she hugged you tight will all the love in her body

Now she's older

her arms and legs are covered in scars

she cries herself to sleep

now she screams out in pain

but she keeps quiet

because she doesn't want anyone to see

just how broken she is

And do you want to know why she does this?

because she believed a few of your nasty words
