CHAPTER 1
He ran, his soft brown curls bobbed up and down. I stood there watching him disappear into the crowd as felt the tears pour down my pale cheeks. I suddenly had a wash of sickness rush over me. I felt my heart slowly drop to the bottom of my stomach. How can he do this? My best friend just left me, for her. I bet you're wondering what happened, right? Well it all started when…
*flashback*
"Hey, Harry" i said walking into the cafe and sitting down next to him. He sat there staring at his coffee and didn't say a word. I stared a him and i instantly knew it was something to do with Alice. Alice has been Harry's girlfriend for 4 months and she's a total slut. I really don't see what he sees in her. She wears a skimpy short skirt, that shows off most of her arse and a low cut crop top. She might as well go around naked. But Harry likes her, and I'm his best friend so i support him in it, even though i hate her guts.
"Whats happened this time?" i sighed. He looked up at me and then back down at his coffee.
"We had an argument" he mumbled. I should of guessed. Lately they've been arguing a lot, and i don't even know why.
"So what happened then?" i asked.
"I saw her cheating on me, so i told her about it and she denied it. Then she accused me of cheating with you." he sighed. I was speechless, and tears started to prick my eyes, threatening to fall. How could she do this to him? She knows it will break him. I stood up quickly, causing the chair to fly backwards and smash into the wall. I tried to keep the tears back but i just couldn't. You see, Harry had a lot of trouble in the past with relationships. Once, when this sort of thing happened, he didn't eat for days and we think he even started self harming. When he finally came out of his bedroom one day he looked terrible, in fact he looked scary. I died inside seeing him like that.Thats why I'm so protective over him now.
I stormed out of the cafe into the busy street and walked down the street until i saw her. The very face i want to tear off. I knew she would be out here buy shoes or more slap to but of her orange face.
"What is wrong with you?" i shouted at her. She gave a little smirk.
"I guess he told you then" she said. "sucks for you" she added. What is she on about? As i was about to reply Harry ran out.
"hurry up Harry" Alice said as she turned around and walked off. I frowned at her and then turned to Harry.
"Harry, what is she on about?" i asked.
"I'm sorry" he whispered. I noticed the tears well up in his eyes. I gave him a look as if to say 'Continue' "She said it was her or you. And i can't just leave her" he added. I was in a state of shock. He's leaving me? Just like that? Does 9 years mean anything to him?
"So you're leaving me for her, even though you saw her cheat on you. Even though I've been there for you when she's the one who's caused the problems. Ive stuck with you for 9 years and you're leaving all of that?" i whispered back, crying more than what i should.
"Im so sorry claire" he said. I can't believe it.
"If she breaks your heart Harry, just don't come running to me. Not that you'd want to since you're leaving me." i said coldly.
"Look I'm sorry. Just…arhh..i can't do this claire." and with that he ran. He ran with everything he could. He ran away with all of the happy memories we shared. Everything. He just ran.
*End of flashback*
As he disappeared into the crowd, my head pounded. I felt dizzy and weak tot he knee. I fell. I fell to the ground, feeling numb and helpless. People gathered around me shouting things. All i wanted to do was run after Harry, but i can't. Before i knew it everything went black. I felt like i was falling into a nightmare. Everything stopped.
