We were walking for something like thirty minutes now. The man in the Tavern said we would find the captain near the docks by that hour. Chaeyoung and I didn't have much time. Apparently, the pirate would leave the town with his crew in that same afternoon, which gave as so little time to convince him of our wishes.

"Mina, this man, Captain Hook. Are you sure he's trustful? We only heard bad things about him until now." Chaeyoung asked, while we were walking towards the docks, already being able to see the ships.

"He's not. But I believe there's still some honor inside him." I answered, eyes locked in the ship I presumed was the Jolly Roger.

"How can you be so sure?" she asked.

"I'm not. But I won't allow fear to stop me from getting what I won't. Will you?" I finally looked at her, her face switching from uncertainty to determination.

"I risked my skin to fight for what I believe. I learned what was honor from the most honored warrior. Do I look like someone who'd be afraid of a one handed pirate?"

I smiled over her answer. We knew each other for no longer than one year, but I knew enough about that young shorty to know that she was too proud for giving up like that. Sometimes I wondered if she was like that before being Mulan apprentice, but she never gave me much room to ask about her life before the war. Well, it was not like the opposite had happened either, so I thought it was fair enough.

"Is that the ship?" she asked, pointing to the huge vessel that I presumed to be the Jolly Roger.

"I think so." I answered.

We walked closer to the docks, stopping right in front the entrance of the ship, where the man with a hook in the place of his left hand stood talking to one of his men. His back facing us, until the man he was talking warned about our presence.

"May I help the young lasses?" he said, a laid-back and charming smile wearing his face.

"You're Captain Hook, am I right?" I asked, collecting all the courage I could find to not transmit any hesitation or fear.

"Well, if this hook says anything" he lifted his right arm, causally showing his hook, "I believe I'm the man."

"Good." I said, "Because we have a few requests that we thought you could grant us."

The man wised an eyebrow. His smile replaced for a puzzled expression. He analyzed us for a few seconds before asking:

"And what a pirate like me could grant two lost children?"

"We're not children!" Chaeyoung said, and I placed my arm in front of her before she could let herself go for her temper.

Chaeyoung could be very patience about somethings, but for some others, mostly about those that could doubt her value as a worthy warrior or human, she could lose her mind in quite a short time.

"Said the baby-faced goblin." he mocked, and I now I had to literally hold my friend to not jump in the pirate's neck.

"Don't be silly, Chae! He's only provoking us!"

When I noticed my friend wouldn't go after the pirate, I finally returned my eyes to the man.

"Plus, he's right. We are kids. Lost ones." I started, "And I heard we're not the first lost children he deals with. Am I wrong?"

A smirk appeared in the man's lips.

"You made your homework, lass." he said, "So may I know what the two kids wants with a handsome pirate like me?"
