Black sipped his tea. "We can not fully complete the zero mortal plan, until Son Goku and Vegeta return to this timeline. Why not take it easy?" Zamasu frowned. "There are still mortals on this planet. Besides, it would not do to lose your edge." Black nodded. "A fair point." They both blinked. Vegeta's ki had flared up suddenly, and now that they were concentrating, they could feel Son Goku as well. Zamasu looked at Black. "It is time." They threw on their clothes, syncing their minds for the coming battle. They flew silently to the energy. "Where's Trunks?" They heard Vegeta asking. "Maybe he's fighting Black and Zamasu." Goku replied. Zamasu smirked at Black. Black turned to the pair beneath the clouds and projected his voice, echoing over the ruins. "Your son is dead!" Zamasu chimed in, "And his evil future for humanity with him!" The clouds burst apart, revealing the divine duo, in all of their glory. Black beckoned to Vegeta, the appetizer. Zamasu floated down to Son Goku, smiling at him kindly. Goku wasted no time, attacking Zamasu with furious strength. Zamasu made no effort to fight back, floating dreamily in a warm ocean of pain. A peaceful, euphoric look came over his face, closing his eyes in peace. Suddenly, Black's ki dropped dramatically, startling Zamasu out of his repose. He dodged Son Goku's next blow, kicked him into a building, and flew after Vegeta, chopping his neck. A look of understanding passed between Black and Zamasu, as Goku kicked Zamasu away. "You're fighting me!" Zamasu's peaceful expression faded into a scowl of fury. "Don't you dare give orders to a god, mortal!" Black groaned, brushing rocks out of his hair. "Why is there such a difference in strength?" Vegeta fixed him with an icy stare. "Would you like to know?" He said, pulling Black up by his hair. "It's because you're a fake. And I'm the saiyan prince, Vegeta! That's why!" The force of Vegeta's ki caused the building to collapse on top of Black. Beneath the rubble, Black stared at his twitching hand, trying to calm himself. "You ignorant mortals who would blaspheme the gods... You act like you own them, you arrogant mortals!" He looked up into a final flash, taking the yellow beam of energy head-on. "Get up," Vegeta said. "I know you aren't one to be defeated by an attack of that level." Black slowly rose into the air to face Vegeta. "I now understand how you are improving so rapidly. It's anger isn't it? The anger that your son was killed made you strong didn't it? Now that I realize it, it's simple....turn anger into power. I see, anger. Anger at the mortals who disrespect the universe. Anger at the gods who overlook that disrespect." He extended his ki blade and aimed it, not at Vegeta, but his own palm. "And....anger at my powerless self for losing to a mere mortal!" He stabbed his palm, pushing the blade fully into his hand. An insane smile came over his face, and he began chuckling manically. He began pulling the blade out, much larger than before. He ripped the blade out, revealing a scythe, made purely of ki. "Look you appetizer," he said, leveling the scythe at Vegeta, "By turning my anger into power, I have gained another power. If anger can be a source of strength... then the anger I hold, greater than anyone else's makes me the strongest." He pulled the scythe behind his shoulder, like he was about to hit a home run. "Now... feel the wrath of a god!" He swung the scythe, a blade of energy shooting from the blade. Vegeta vanished and reappeared nearby. He smirked. "That's not a speed I can't-" he cut himself off, staring at the tear in reality the blade had made. Zamasu turned. "Oh?"
"What is that?" Vegeta exclaimed. "Who knows?" Black said quietly. "Even I don't know. Is what we see a different universe? The far future of the past? It could even the bottomless anger I hold within me. My power has surpassed even my own understanding." Zamasu started chuckling. "Fighting strong opponents brings us to even greater heights... this is truly the work of a god!" He turned casually. "Wouldn't you agree, Son Goku?"
"You're wide open!" Came the reply, followed by a punch to the face. Black turned back to Vegeta, but turned his head when pink steam began pouring from the rift. The smoke collected in three main clumps pulling together into three identical clones of Black. One teleported straight to Vegeta, while the other two went straight for Goku. Black yelled to Zamasu; "Go destroy the time machine and the other humans!" Zamasu nodded and glided off towards the energy of Bulma and Mai. Vegeta punched the clone of Black, causing it to burst into smoke. Black waved his hand and more smoke streamed forwards to create more clones. There were now six in total.
Zamasu hummed a quiet tune as he hurtled toward the two mortals. He spotted the garage easily and landed in the front. The one with blue hair, Trunks's mother, came out wearing a lab coat. She strolled up to Zamasu, giving the impression of nonchalance, but he could practically smell her fear. "Zamasu!" He frowned. "Tee hee! So I hear you're making a world by yourself? What a grand scale! Say, if I become the wife of a god, would any wish of mine be granted? Would I be called a goddess? I think I might fall into a forbidden love!" Zamasu stared down at her in disgust. He felt none of the happiness he did when he was with Black, only a dark, slowly growing, irritation at her jabbering. She opened one eye. He gave her his most angry glare. He raised his hand, energy surrounding it. He brought it down in a swift chop on her neck. He heard a loud snap, and tossed the lifeless body away. Zamasu exhaled. "One step closer..."
