Chapter 9. Too many questions

Briar's POV

Myles came rushing over to me. Everyone was shouting loudly and it made my head ache even more. "Baby girl you're okay now" whispered Myles. His tears fell on my face and that broke me. I hate when Myles is upset, especially when it's because of me. I opened my eyes to see Myles and Britt towering over me with worried expressions. I couldn't speak. My throat KILLED after Devon trying to strangle me. I couldn't move. My ribs were most probably broken as breathing in and out sent sharp pains up my sides. My face tingled from where Devon  hit me so hard, multiple times. I couldn't take anymore of the shouts from all the boys, apart from Myles, who was cupping my cheeks and looking into my eyes while crying. The noise made me feel dizzy and sick. I shot up and threw up all over the floor. I laid back down as the pain was unbearable and began to panic. The pain was too much, was I going to die? I started breathing heavily and crying loud.
"Shhh shhh B I'm here" said Myles stroking my hair. "Britt call an ambulance now!!" I heard him cry. I have never seen him cry this much in my life, and I have known him since I was 4. "Call the police too!" I heard Isaac say with panic in his voice. I guess all the cast are here now, they can all see the state that I'm in. They're going to want to know why Devon would do this. Am I going to have to explain what he did to me a month ago? This is all too much.

Myles POV

After what feels like an eternity, the ambulance came. We were all in the hospital waiting for Briar to be okay and being questioned by the police.
"So Mr Erlick, you're Briar's friend?"
"No I'm her boyfriend, we are all her best friends" I said pointing to all of the cast who had tears running down their faces, even the boys were shedding a few tears. "Oh right I see" said the police officer.
He wrote something down in his notepad and then turned his attention back to us.
"I'm officer Willis, I'm here to find out what happened here and write it down so we can try get Mr Devon Brown behind bars. So, who was the first to see what was happening?"
"Me" I said quietly remembering the exact moment where I saw my life being destroyed.
"So when you walked in, what was happening? Please explain in detail"
"Well... I was walking a bit faster than the rest of the guys because I wanted to see if Briar was okay. When I got on the bus I heard violent noises coming from the lounge, but I just thought that it might've been a movie she was watching. I walk into the lounge and find Devon on top of her. She's bleeding and bruised, and he's got his hands around her neck.... he was trying to k-ki-Kill her" I barley managed to get the last few words out as I was now balling my eyes out. Victoria came over and started rubbing circles over my back to try and comfort me. It obviously wasn't going to work. The only thing that could comfort me was Briar.
"I'm sorry you have to do this Mr Erlick... I know you must really care for Briar but please continue and don't leave out a single detail" said Officer Willis.
I wiped my face and put my head in my hands. "I ran over and yanked Devon off of Briar, throwing him to the floor. I picked Briar up and put her on the sofa. She looked so broken, she was so badly hurt and I was crying at this point. I turned around to be faced with Devon trying to get at Briar again, that's when I lost it and just started hitting him like crazy" I said, filling up with anger.
"What happened next?"
"I could hear Britt screaming at me to stop, but I didn't. I didn't want to stop I wanted him to pay for what he did to Briar. Next thing I know I'm being pulled off of him and Trevor started hitting him, that's when I went to Briar and Britt phoned up".
"Thank you Mr Erlick, I'm really sorry about your experience. Which one of you is Trevor?" He asked.
"That would be me" said Trev hugging Britt.
"Okay, why did you start hitting Devon?"
"Because Briar is like my little sister, I felt like I had to make him pay, especially with the state she was in" said Trev trying to keep himself calm. Britt kissed his cheek and all the tension was released.
After a little while of Officer Willis asking all the cast minor questions about what they saw he started writing loads of things down.
"Now, this is the most important question. Do any of you have any idea why Devon would do this to Briar?"
Everyone shook their heads, but I didn't. I knew exactly why he did this and it made me sick. What am I supposed to say? Briar would hate it if all the cast knew.
"Myles, do you know?" Asked Isaac looking at me.
"Yes" I said with no emotion.
"What is it Mr Erlick?" Asked Officer Willis.
"Ummm... uh" I mumbled. I don't know what to say.
"Myles what happened?" Asked Trevor sternly.
"I-I-uh"
"Mr Erlick, would you like to tell me in private?" Asked Officer Willis.
"Yes please" I replied quick, standing up.
I looked around and received a few odd looks from the others. Who could blame them though?
Officer Willis took me into an empty patient room.
"Mr Erlick, what happened?" He asked confused.
"He raped her.... 3 times" I said looking down as I knew tears were threatening to reappear.
"How long have you known this?"
"3 days" I mumbled.
"How did you find out, do you know for sure?"
I started getting annoyed at all the questions.
"Because Briar told me herself! While she was in hospital because he got her pregnant!" I yelled.
"What did she do with the baby?" Asked Officer Willis, he didn't seem phased whatsoever.
"It died! And she almost did too! The pregnancy had complications and she spat out blood all over the tour bus!!! She had a fucking operation because of it!" I yelled, I was now furious.
"How do you know the baby was Devons?"
Are you freaking kidding me!? What is he implying?
"Because we have never had sex" I say through gritted teeth. My fists were clenched and my breathing quickened.
"How do you know she wasn't cheating on you?" He asked.
That's when I lost my shit.
"THATS IT! I TELL YOU THAT MY GIRLFRIEND WAS RAPED BY THE PERSON WHO JUST ALMOST BEAT HER TO DEATH AND YOU'RE ASKING ME ALL THESE STUPID QUESTIONS!!! IT'S BULLSHIT!"
"Mr Erlick, I have to get the facts right. Rape is a serious accusation".
"It's not an accusation. It's a fact".
"I believe you, just calm down okay?"
I nod my head before walking back out to the waiting room to find a doctor talking to the guys.
"Is Briar okay?" I ask rushing over. When the doctor turns around, I realise that it's Meredith, now I know Briar is in good hands.
"Hi Myles, I'm afraid Briars injuries are a lot more severe then we thought..." said Meredith with her hand on my arm.
I look around the cast to see them all looking down at their feet. What was I missing?
"What's going on?" I say slightly frustrated.
"They don't think Bri is going to make it" said Jordan.
My. heart. stopped.
