Michael Myers was born October 31, 1957 to John and Edith Myers. He had two sisters, Judith and Laurie. The family lived in the town of Haddonfield, Illinois.
Michael experienced typical child development and he was considered to be a bright child. He learned to speak rather quickly and read at a much more advanced pace for his age, that is until his fifth year where he started to quickly lose some speech and began to show some stereotypical autistic behavior (preoccupation with parts of objects, staring off into space.)
His sister, Judith, died on October 31st, 1963 when he was just 6 years old. Michael was put under psychiatrist care by Dr. Loomis at Smith's Grove-Warren County Sanitarium. Dr. Loomis tried to reach out to Michael, but Michael never spoke a word.
Both of his parents died a few years later, leaving him alone in the world with one sister, Laurie. Michael got out of the hospital when he was 21 and went to Haddonfield to try to find his sister. Laurie hadn't seen him in 15 years and didn't remember him. He kept trying to get in touch with her, but she kept trying to avoid him.
After years of trying to find her, he gave up and tried contacting her daughter, Jamie. Laurie had left town, but Jamie still lived in Haddonfield with another family. She was only 7 years old and had no idea she even had an uncle, so naturally she tried to avoid him as well.
Eventually he found Laurie again but she thought he was stalking her and had changed her name. They had a falling out and Michael realized that he had almost no family left.
Michael had never known his family. He was taken from them or them from him when he was young. All he ever wanted was to find and be with his family.
