Will looked out on the top of the ship out onto the Capital Wasteland. Typical in his morning routine as to be up there, he grew accustomed to the sight of the wasteland. After eighteen years he could finally put his past to rest. Knowing only his new life. Being the head of a multi-state caravan company based out here in the Capital, he would make his father proud. Now he has to prove to his daughter that ignorance can't be tolerated out in the wastes. Seeing too much it seems, he knew what how it could be for her, only if she saw it. His daily thoughts of the future seems reminiscent of the Pre-War world. Timely in its sense, but practical in its method. If only Jamie saw the world built, but if reminiscing is the idea, he had to get past the 'what-ifs' of life. He could only do so much by the end. The blank gaze that Will held, only seemed strained by the fact that a stormy horizon had enveloped in the north. After Project Purity, it seemed as weather started to become something new. Most people, including Will, knew of how the weather started slowly, but this seemed to be different from previous storms. The visible green of the clouds seemed more ominous as it grew closer to the ship. Dread overcame Will, only because of a familiarity with this dread. As if he were expecting it, expecting someone. Nonsense, Will thought as he continued to stare at the cloud. It couldn't be, nothing would get him, he cut off his loose ends.
"Hey," screamed Samantha from behind Will.
Breaking his paranoia, he jumped, turning, he spoke, "what is it Sam?"
"Just checking in on my old man."
"I'm not that old."
"You are to me daaad, or should I call you grandpa if it makes you any happier. Plus, I saw you jump. Guess your not as keen as you thought you were."
'What is it?"
"Oh, just thought to see how my father was, we were supposed to do something for my eighteenth birthday tomorrow."
"We are, don't worry, I have it planned out."
"Do you, it seems you're just staring at a cloud."
"Not just any cloud, a storm. There's something about it that seems... off about it. I can't place it on anything, but it doesn't seem right."
"It's just a storm dad, there shouldn't be anything too scary about it."
"You're right, I guess."
"Well, dad, I just wanted to know what we're doing tomorrow. It's important to me."
"I told you, I planned something, and your mom and I have discussed this for a long time now."
"What?"
"You'll find out, she has to go visit the grandparents with Billy."
"Is it happening in Megaton?" she asked giddily."
"No it's happening here."
"Is she bringing whatever it is with grandma and grandpa?"
"No."
"Then she's just there to see them."
"Yes, I asked her to see them until tomorrow."
"Why?"
"You'll see, now let's just head inside, get breakfast, and do our routine."
"Alright, dad. Let's go do whatever, because all I want to know is what is going to be given to me."
"Have patience. There will be a lot to take in."
Entering the ship, Will could not mentally prepare himself for the next day's events. By this point it's been fifteen years after the second battle of Hoover Dam. Caesar's Legion as it was formerly known has broken up into multiple tribes or into groups claiming to be Caesar's Legion. The NCR expanded into most of Nevada, parts of Arizona, Idaho, and Oregon. The Eastern Brotherhood controlled most of the area between Boston and the Capital Wasteland, but only on the coast. Will's caravan company has expanded trade into Maryland and Virginia. Overall, Will was settled as he lived his life on the east coast with his wife, nearly eighteen year old daughter, and sixteen year old son.
