I was so happy to see Debbie again. I’d been fighting with my feelings over her. My feelings had won. The only thing was I was afraid of what Louis might think. Not just about me dating his younger sister but because of the whole Larry Stylinson thing, yeah he was like that.
My thoughts were interrupted my Zayn asking me something, “So Harry, what club should we go to tonight??”
“Umm, I don’t know. What do you think Boobear??” I asked turning to Louis.
“We should go to the one we went to before we left!!” Louis said, jumping up and down in his seat, “I nominate Liam to be designated driver.”
We all laughed except for Liam who glared at Louis. Debbie who was sitting on one side of him rubbed his arm and said, “Awww, Li don’t worry. I’ll help you get them back.” They both grinned as the others looked afraid. I felt a pang of jealousy, like always, when Debbie comforted Liam.
For the rest of the ride home, I didn’t really pay attention to what everyone was saying. I side glanced at Debbie every once and a while so no one would notice. When the car stopped at our block of apartments, she suggested going to our apartment.
Debbie had been staying in me and Louis’ apartment since the beginning of summer, when she finished high school. We had offered it to her because we wanted someone we knew to look after the apartment when we were away and she needed somewhere to stay when she started University next week.
Everyone agreed and Paul, who had been driving the truck, took their bags to their apartments. It was a 5 minute walk from the parking lot to our apartment and when we arrived everything was dark.
Liam turned the lights on and then suddenly, “WELCOME HOME!!!!!!” all our family and friends screamed. The boys and I jumped a foot in the air and smiled at them.
“Liam!!” a girl’s voice shouted and he ran towards his girlfriend to kiss her. Eleanor jumped on Louis’ back and kissed him and I went straight over to my mom to kiss her on the cheek.
“Harry, I missed you so much!!”
“I missed you too mum… and your cooking.”
“Well good, because I made you a cake.”
“Hey, Mrs Styles!” Debbie said coming over to give her a hug.
“Oh, Debbie! For the last time call me Anne!”
Debbie laughed and cut two slices of cake, one for me and one for her. Then I walked around, talking to all my friends and family and the friends and family of the boys as well.

An hour or two later, everyone had left including the boys, to get ready for the club, and I was heading down the hall towards my room. When I passed the kitchen I saw that the news was on the TV in there. I would’ve kept walking but something the reporter was saying caught my attention.
“One Direction have returned to England today, from their American tour. They were seen leaving Heathrow Airport with Julie Simmons, Niall’s girlfriend of a year, and Deborah Tomlinson, Louis’ younger sister. Over the past two years Deborah and dashing young, Harry Styles have been getting real close. Do I smell romance? There will be more information soon.”
“Stupid, isn’t it?” the soft velvety whispered in my ear, sending shivers down my spine.
I turned my head a little to see Debbie leaning over my shoulder, “What do you mean??”
“How everyone seems to think that two people of the opposite gender can’t be close friends.”
I looked down slightly, “Yeah… I’ve got to go get ready.”
She smiled at me warmly, “So do I. We need to be ready in an hour.”
“Ok…” I turned on my feet and walked away. I knew it, she only wanted to be close friends, that’s all we’d ever be.
