I was released from the hospital a few days later, and Xavier was kind enough to take me home. He helped me climb into the black Nissan, and then he climbed in after.
He had rarely left my side while I was in the hospital. He had only gone home twice to get a change of clothes and pick up decent food(aka not hospital food).
"Hey Dakota....where do you go to school?"
"LakeRiver High (idk....)."
"Oh cool! I just transferred there."
I smiled at him and he smiled back. He grabbed my hand before looking towards the road again. I blushed and turned to look out the window.
It was foggy out, but I could still see the trees and building flash by as we drove. I realized we had passed the turn that lead towards my house.
"Hey uh...you missed the turn"
"I know."
"Uh..Ok..? Where are we going?"
"It's a surprise."
He turned to wink at me, and I once again blushed. I looked down at our intertwined hands and blushed even harder.
"You look cute when you blush."
This of course, caused me to turn even redder.
I saw him smirk and stick his tongue out at me. I of course, licked his cheek.
"Ewwwwww. Really?"
"Yes, really. Now pay attention to the road Mister."
"Ok, ok, jeez."
We drove for a few more minutes in silence until he stopped the car. I looked up from our intertwined hands and he smiled.
"We're here!!"
I looked out the car window and I saw
CLIFFHANGER!!!
