Chapter 1: The HonorNobody's P.O.V
"You've done it! You've done it, Hiccup! You get to kill the dragon!" Exclaimed Gobber, a mean looking Viking with one arm and one leg who also happens to be Berks blacksmith.
'Can everyone just back off for one second' thought Hiccup as he looked around at his former bullies as they came running towards him to pick him up off the ground and carries him to the mead hall. It wasn't very hard for the teens to lift Hiccup off the ground as his thin figure did not carry a lot of muscle on him making him scrawny and light.
"Can you put me down please" Hiccup said still trying to take in everything that has just happened in the last 5 minutes. "I need to go... do something, somewhere" the small boy said, "Now why would you do that!" A man bellowed as he slapped Hiccups back.
"Oh, hey dad" Hiccup said nervously as he recovered from the stumble that was caused by the huge hand that made contact with his back, "come on, we need to celebrate!" Hiccup's father, Stoick yelled at the top of his lungs which he got reply's such as "yeah" and "woo hoo" from the villagers.
Stoick then lightly pushed his son in the back in the direction of the mead hall.
As they entered the hall their were already dozens of Vikings drinking mead from big wooden mugs. The teenagers walked to their usual bench and as they sat down around Hiccup asking him questions he couldn't notice the deathly glare he received from a very angry shield maiden that had not been too happy about the past events as Astrid had been wanting too win dragon training but instead of her being lifted up and carried to the hall, it was Hiccup.
Stoick has sat in his thrown at the very end of the hall. "Can I have everyone's attention" Stoick once again yelled which quickly gets the full attention of all the Vikings in the hall, "Well, I can show my face in public again! If someone had told me that in just few short weeks, Hiccup would go from being, well... Hiccup, to placing first in Dragon Training... Well, I would've tied him to a mast and shipped him off for fear he'd gone mad. Yes! And you know it! But here we are. And no one's more surprised...or more proud than I am. Today, my boy becomes a Viking. TODAY, HE BECOMES ONE OF US!" This gets loud cheers from the village crammed inside the large building.
"Get up here son!" Stoick says which startles the young Viking. He than nervously got up out of his seat and began slowly walking towards his father, he truly did not like all this attention as he was quite a shy person who liked to go to the woods peacefully and draw by himself.
As he walked up the final steps he tried to make himself look small to not have anyone recognize him and unfortunately it wasn't working.
"Haha, look at him" Stoick said with a smile on his face, "come on, it's a time to celebrate, not for you to become shy" he whispered into his slightly frightened son.
After Stoick's long speech about how proud he was of Hiccup, he was sent back down to his table where all the teens were talking to each other, snotlout talking to his dad and rug and tuff to each other, but fishlegs has disappeared somewhere only Thor knows where, but there was one mad Valkyrie sitting on the edge of the bench silent and away from everyone.
"Hey, um, in sorry about what happened back at the arena... I just saw my opportunity to strike so I did and, um, I'm sorry you couldn't get the opportunity to kill the dragon but..." the stuttering boy was cut off by a slam of a mug on a wooden table. "I don't care! I mean, I don't care. You clearly cheated some how or you've just had a very lucky streak running for you but in truth I honestly couldn't care less if you get to kill the dragon or not" the young Viking girl Then let go of her mug and stormed away without another word. You could clearly tell she was lying as at the beginning of her statement she was fuming with anger but at the end she calmed down a bit, but she didn't look up at Hiccup once while she spoke to him, nor when Hiccup tried to apologize.
A few, long hours later Hiccup walked up to his dad while he was laughing after a statement that spitelout, Stoick's brother, had told him, "hey it's getting a bit late I recon I should head off and go to bed, I'm starting to get tired" Hiccup told his father while giving him a fake yawn and stretching his arms out to try and emphasize the fact that it was beginning to get late.
"Yes, very well then, you need all the strength you can get before you kill that beast tomorrow". Stoick replied as he looked down to his so who was only up to his belly in height.
"Goodnight dad"
"Goodnight son"
At that Hiccup walked off to get his stuff and leave before Stoick got home.
As he was walking out of the mead hall and down the steps he couldn't help but notice that he had a feeling that someone was following him, so he stopped and turned around but there was no one there, so he chose to ignore the feeling of being watched and he simply shrugged it off before he headed down to his house. But what Hiccup failed to notice was that there truly was someone following him and that someone was not too pleased with him.
