I wanna go home
Back to the little house
Where I grew up
Quiet as a mouse.
Out in the country
No one around
Lets go back
Memory bound.
Apple trees out back
Surrounded by fields
Sheets of metal
We pretended were shields.
Wood in the barn
Tame fire inside
Burn pit out back
Silly rules to abide.
Don't throw out cans
Put them in a tub
Don't hit your sister
Be nice to bub.
Don't ride the dog
Leave the chickens alone
Eat your meat
Set fire to the bone.
Go pick tomatoes
Don't forget the green
Don't hide in the woods
Don't go unseen.
We had silly rules to abide
But learned lessons too
I wanna go home
But do you?
