The Dragon Egg

        One day on a stormy night there was some archaeologist that found what looked like a fossilized dinosaur egg. So the archaeologist decided to take it back to their lab to do some tests on the egg. As they were loading up the egg they got attacked by a group of bad guys and, they took what the archaeologist thought was a dino egg. As the bad guys were heading back to their base to report a successful mission their car got hit by lightning from the storm and the egg was lost.

          In the land of Queens there lived a boy with his parents. The boy's name was Jackson Strike. Jackson is 13 years old with sea green eyes and coal black hair and lives in a house with woods for a backyard. One day when Jackson was playing outside in the woods he heard a voice. He looked around but there was no one there Jackson thought he was losing his mind. So he decided to go back to his house to see when supper would be ready. When Jackson got back to his house he heard the voice again but this time it was not as loud as before. So Jackson thought I am definitely not losing my mind I am going crazy. So Jackson went inside and saw that the kitchen was empty so he looked around his house and, finally found his mom and dad sitting in the living room as he approached he heard the voice again this time it sounded softer than before. So Jackson ran up to his parents and asked: "did you hear that voice just now?" Jackson's parents looked at him and his dad said "son are you feeling ok?",and his mom came over and put her hand on his forehead and said: "he's not running a fever." Jackson pushed his mom's hand away and said "I could've told you that. You don't believe me?" "no son it's not that we don't believe you it's that we are worried about you hearing voices is not normal", said his dad. "No really dad I thought hearing voices was normal," said Jackson sarcastically. "Don't give that tone of voice to me young man go to your room!" said his dad. " Fine I'll go but I want supper later!" said Jackson, and he marched up to his room and slammed the door and flopped down on his bed.

        Then as Jackson was about to close his eyes to rest a little before supper he heard the voice again but clearer than before and this time he could actually make out what it was saying. It was saying "come find me, Jackson, I've been waiting for you come find me." This time the voice did not go away after a while like the first three times. So he climbs out his window and dropped down to his backyard and started walking towards the forest. As he was walking the voice got louder or softer depending on which way he turned. He decided to follow the direction where the voice got louder. When the voice stopped he stopped and was at a clearing near a road. He decided to keep walking forward till he saw who was talking to him but, saw no one in sight. When he was about in the middle of the clearing he tripped over something and went face first in the grass. When he looked back he saw a rock the size of a football and he said "who would leave a rock just lying in a clearing that's ridiculous. I think I will take this rock home so no one will trip on it again and hurt themselves." So he picked up the rock which was pretty heavy considering its size and walked home. When he got home he just walked through the kitchen door forgetting he was supposed to be in his room and his mom was in the kitchen and she yelled: "Jackson Henry Strike you are supposed to be in your room mister what are you doing down here?" Now Jackson did not like when his parents used his middle name because he knew that when they did he was in big trouble and he didn't even know why he was in trouble but, then he remembered he was supposed to be in his room until supper and his face turned pale and he went straight to his room not even stopping to answer his mom's question. When he got to his room he set the rock down and stared at it and sighed and said: " I'm in so much trouble I forgot that I was supposed to be in my room and it's all because of that stupid voice." He went to his bed and sighed some more. 

          Later that night at supper the Strike family was all sitting around the table sipping their soup peacefully until Jackson's mom said: "Dear husband of mine could you please ask our son why he was not in his room earlier tonight?" Jackson's dad looked up at Jackson and asked: "Jackson why were you not in your room earlier tonight?" Jackson looked up and said, " you all think I'm going crazy you wouldn't believe me if I told you the truth." "Now Jackson your mother and I just want to know the truth why you were not in your room earlier tonight we'll believe you it can't be that bad," said Jackson's dad. Oh yes, it can thought Jackson but, he told them everything from the time he was in his room to the time he came home with the rock from the clearing. His parents just looked at him and smiled funny and his dad said: "how about you go spend some time at grandma's extra cabin for a week or so starting tomorrow?" "What I told you that you would think I was crazy and here you are telling me I should go away because I'm crazy and you want me to get better by sending me away!" said Jackson. "No I mean yeah I mean what I mean is honey we think you need a break from us because we are the problem you are hearing voices and we just want you to go back to being you," said Jackson's mom. "So Jackson why don't you go start packing after supper and, pack enough clothes and pj's and toothpaste for like a week and after a week we'll come and get you and, grandma will check on you in the middle of the week but, you just need time to yourself so go out of the cabin by yourself and have fun and forget about hearing voices and maybe they'll go away",said Jackson's dad. "Fine maybe you're right maybe I am going crazy and I just need to forget about it," said Jackson. After supper, Jackson went upstairs to his room to start packing. He packed a lot of clothes, toothpaste, pj's, provisions and water. He also packed a flashlight, a first aid kit, blankets, and money just in case. After he got everything to fit into his suitcase it was late and his parents came up and told him it was time for bed so that he can be ready to go in the morning. So Jackson went to bed but, as he was closing his eyes the voice said: " I am almost ready need tonight be ready sometime tomorrow, Jackson bring what you think is a rock with you and goodnight." That was the last thing Jackson heard before he went to bed.
