I wish I can be soft
As the pastels I've seen
But I'm full of bitterness
Like I've always been.
I wish I was better
At being a friend
But as quick they started
As quick they end.
I wish I was enough
For the people I give effort to;
But for every warm yellow,
They just give me blue.
I wish I loved myself
Like how I love them
But no I'm not worthy
I'll forever be damned.
I wish they didn't lie
That they cared about me too;
It makes it hard to distinguish
What is false from true.
I wish I can restrain myself
From telling them what I bear.
I wish I can keep it inside
Because I know they don't care.
I wish I can keep on crying
Alone and curling up.
I wish that when I see them
I wouldn't try my luck.
I wish alot of wishes
I know will be unheard
But my speech has freedom
And can soar like a bird.
In the meantime,
I'll keep them close to my chest
As I share warmth with myself,
I'll hope for the best.
