The crisp forest wind clung around my weak body as I sat against the large oak tree. My skinny legs and arms and stomach outlined my bones as my torn, black shirt and black jeans, barely big enough for my body, gave me some sort of warmth. The boots that I wore stopped my feet from getting too sore. My ragged, brown hair covered my muddy face as my hazel eyes could barely stay open.

I was tired and exhausted. I hadn't eaten in days. I hadn't slept. The only water I had drank was from the final water bottle in my green backpack 7 hours ago. Now, the sun was setting.

Sighing, I pushed myself up from the tree and groaned. I adjusted the strap on my backpack and walked. I walked wherever the path took me. That's wherever you could go these days. Nobody had a future. It was just dead.

After, well, I don't know, half an hour maybe? Anyways, I came across a small, recluse street. The houses were massive, well, I hadn't really had a house anyway. Even be before. My hand pulled the handgun out of my pocket as I walked towards the few houses. I checked the ammo; four bullets.

I slowly opened the door and pointed my gun forwards. My finger was against the side of the gun. You can't put your finger on the trigger unless you need to shoot. My eyes darted around the room, looking to see if anyone was there.
"Hello?" I shouted as my words echoed through the large house.

Nothing.

I sighed and giggled, throwing myself onto the large, leather couch that sat in-front of me. I smiled as I closed my eyes, taking in the sweet silence. I opened my eyes and walked over to the door and closed it, using a plug wire I found to tie the handles shut. I then walked into the kitchen and began stalking through the cupboards. The biggest smile formed on my face as I stared at the stacks of bottled water and canned food.

I reached my hands up to one of the water bottles, then stopped. These things didn't have a spec of dust on them.

Someone had put them there, and it wasn't long ago. My eyes widened as I closed the cupboard.
Half.
I'll take half.
I ran back into the front room and picked up my backpack. I took half of the water and half of the canned food, not caring what the labels read.

"Hey, you didn't lock the back door."
