Nightscape

Prologue

The room was rather small, the walls were made of a tan colored rock and the floor was covered in thick rugs. A shelf was set up along one wall and laden with heavy volumes. A basket full of maps and other various scrolls sat next to it. A large world map of the planet hung on a wall over a fireplace and on the mental was a large metal helmet resembling the head of a falcon. 

Two creatures were in the room. One was fully covered in plated armor and their exposed head looked like a cross between a reptile and a fish with dark jewel colored scales, they were a species known as an Iurasiana. the other sat at a desk, they're kind called the Tytonox. Thier own face had a long muzzle and a large fin ran from the crown of their head and down to the nape of thier neck. 

"It looks as if they have done more then just kick the Draconox out though, King Pato and Queen Mythos of the Draconox are both declared dead and the royal amulets are in Cold's possession," The armored creature, General Paz Jadefish reported.

"What else has happened?" The other creature, the King of the Tytonox asked.

"Her forces have swept through and eliminated most of the Turlearan army, towns and villages are being burned and pillaged and there are a few areas where the inhabitants are fighting back, it looks as if she plans to either enslave all or destroy all of Nagana," Jadefish replied.

"Is that all?"

"Well there is early winter which seems to have something to do with her seizing the royal amulets. From our observations it appears that the amulets are linked to the Helishan artifact legends."

"Those are a myth though!" The King snarled, standing up rapidly from his chair and knocking it aside in frustration.

"you said it yourself my king, your daughter possessed some sort of fiery wall around her thoughts whenever anyone tried to see into her head, that matches the description to one of the artifacts. Cold's sudden burst of power matches two of the artifacts listed in the Heli Chronicles," Jadefish reasoned. 

"How could she have gotten a hold of two artifacts then? And how soon till they overrun all of the planet and hunt us out again," the King said quietly.
