Two Breaths Walking

Chapter 2

"Hm? You say something, Miku?" asked Rin. The teallet jumped out of her daze and shook her head. "No, just talking to myself."

"That's the first sign of madness ya know." Miku only laughed as she looked back at her friend. "Then we both went mad long ago, eh Rin?" The pair laughed but stopped as Len walked over to them. "What cha' doing over here Len?" asked Rin to her brother, Miku only looked out the window and ignored him. "Just came over here to say I'll be late back tonight. Gonna go out with a couple of friends." Len turned around to wave at the group of girls who squealed and waved back. "Mh' ok. Try not to come back too late again, or I'll just make dinner for myself." Len nodded and looked down at Miku, who was still ignoring him. "Don't sweat it Len, she's been day dreaming all day. Once she starts she can't stop her until she snaps out of it herself." Nodding at his sister, Len went away and back to his friends. "Ok Miku, he's gone....Miku?" Rin looked at her friends face to find she really had fallen asleep. "Mmmm, roasted Leeks..." Rolling her eyes back Rin slammed her hand on the table, waking Miku up with a shock. "Seconds Please! Oh.....I was dreaming?" questioned Miku. "Yesyou were dreaming. Seriously all you ever think of is food. Did you manage to eat again tonight?" Miku turned around and put on an innocent face.

"Ah well ya see...I had to work late last night and the stores were closed so I...uh"

"Say no more. You can have some of my bento if you want." Said Rin, and Miku jumped out of her chair and hugged her. "This is why I love you Rin!"

School had finished for the week and Miku had to straight to work, she worked at a bakery and of course, she had to pull a late shift tonight since someone called in sick but hey, extra pay. Though it meant she couldn't get the grocery store and by some ready made dinner again tonight. "Oh thank you Miku dear, sorry for asking to work so late." Said Miku's boss but Miku only bowed and smiled. "No, It's fine! I had a good day at work today!" And with that Miku made her way out of the bakery.

"Already dark, huh." Walking down the street it was basically empty except for the few cars driving back home. Walking on the side walk Miku saw a karaoke bar across the street and saw a certain blonde walk from it, as if he knew someone was looking at him Len turned his head to see Miku across the street but instantly she started to walk away. "Jeez! why did he have to be here?"

Suddenly Miku was pulled into a cover of a building and was pinned against the wall. "What the Hell?! Get away from me perver-Len?"

It's true. The one who was currently looking at her with his ice blue eyes was Len Kagamine, his hair slightly ruffed and his top buttons were undone. "Ugh, I thought it was you. Look, just stay away from you henta-" Miku was cut of again when she tried to get past Len as she slammed his fist on the wall. "L-Len?"

"This is the first time I've managed to get you somewhere alone so you're not getting away from me." Miku swallowed and look at him again, slightly scared. "Why, why do you ignore me, Miku."

"What?" Len slammed his fist again. "I said, why do you ignore me?! We used to be so close in Junior high! now you evade me like the fucking plague!' She had never seen this side of Len before. But she wasn't going to let it scare her, no. She was sick of Len.

"Maybe it's cause you're a total man whore! I see you leaving with one girl after another! one for every day of the week! or maybe cause you ignored ME when we started high school and started acting like a total play boy!"

"Is that you're only reason Miku? after all these years? Just case I like to be with hot girls?!" He was starting to irritate her, out if no where, Len pins her against a building then shouts at her after what, 4 years of not taking to one another!? 'Bullshit!' "So what if it is? You hentai!"

"Wha-So yeah I like hot girls but that's no reason to ignore me and-"

"AM I NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU, LEN!?" shouted Miku and then looked at the ground, taking Len back by surprise. "I knew I was never pretty but..when we started highschool I was going to tell you that-That I liked you!" Miku clenched her fists and could feel tears welling up and falling against her will. "But then you stated to hang out with those hot girls and started ignoring me! I thought I would wait till things died down but you and the girls just kept getting worse! I-I felt like I was never good enough and it seems as though I still am!" Miku looked up with red cheeks but tears kept overflowing and pain could be seen in her eyes.

"Miku..." Len couldn't think of anything to say. Did she really think this, all this time?!

"Now, L-et me go home. And don't talk to me again alright? you got your answer."

Miku pushed away his arms and started walking away, crying slightly,

"Miku!Wait!"
