Hospital

It's 3:00am so we go back to bed.

We wake up at 10:00 the next day. We take a shower and I look in the mirror at my baby bump starting to form. Peeta notices and places his hand on my belly. I look at him and I smile. I love him so much. We do nothing today so there isn't really anything to talk about. We did look through the pregnancy books the doctor gave us.

The next day I can feel my stomach stretching. The doctor said that this was because I was small and my body wasn't used to the pressure it was under. She also said it was completely normal. I'm awake before Peeta and he notices so he wraps his arms around my stomach. "Peeta. Hands of stomach please" I wince at the pain. "Sorry Sweetie. Stretch pains?" I nod and sit up. I hear a knock on the door. "I'll get it" I say hobbling down the stairs. I open the door and it's the last person I wanted to see. Gale. "Katniss, I have meant to do this for a while" I was expecting an unwanted kiss or something but instead he kicks me hard in the stomach. "I never loved you" and with that he's gone. I can't move. Peeta must have heard me fall because he's coming down the stairs. "Katniss? Are you ok?" Then he sees me. "Katniss! We are going to the hospital. Stay with me Kat!" I'm going in and out of consciousness as we are getting into the car. Then I completely black out.

*Peeta's POV*

I run into the hospital with Katniss in my arms. "Nurse! I need a nurse! Dr White comes running into the room. "What happened Peeta? I need a nurse in here! Get me a gurney!" She shouts. I'm crying but I just get out "I don't know she answered the door but when I came down she was on the floor! She was going in and out of consciousness!" She nods and takes her into the emergency wing. I try to follow but I'm held back. "No! Please! Katniss! KATNISS!" I need to go with her! Peeta calm down. She's a fighter. She'll be fine. I need to call Haymitch. I walk over to the pay phone and dial his number. "Hello?" "Haymitch I need you in the hospital now! Katniss is hurt!" I hang up the phone. About a minuet later Haymitch bursts through the doors. "Peeta! What happened?" Haymitch asks me. "I should have been there! She answered the door and I heard something so I went downstairs and she was just lying there!" I'm crying a lot now.

Dr White comes out about 1 hour later. We get up and walk to her. "Peeta. The good news is she is alive" "what about the baby!?" "Let the woman finish, Peeta" "as I was saying, she is alive. The baby is alive too, but it seems as something hit her hard in the stomach just missing the baby. She also hit her head when she hit the floor. So she has major bruising and a minor concussion" the doctor says. I breath out. "When can I see her?" I ask. "Now, if you would like" I nod and she shows us down the hall.

I walk into a room and see my Katniss on the bed. She isn't awake but just seeing her makes me feel a lot better. "Oh and Peeta, when we did the ultrasound we found out the sex of the baby. Would you like to know?" She asks. I nod. "It's a girl" and with that she walks out the door. I smile. A little baby girl. My little baby girl. Katniss opens her eyes. "Hey honey" I say to her. "I'm going to get a doctor" Haymitch said. I forgot he was there. "Peeta. Is the baby ok?" She asks in her little innocent voice. "Yes the baby is fine. They found out the sex. Wanna know?" I ask her. She nods. "We're having a little baby girl!". She smiles. Just then the doctor comes in. "Katniss! Your awake!". She nods. "How are you feeling?" The doctor asks. "I'm a bit sore, but I think that's because of what happened" she says and giggles. "Katniss, what did happen?" Dr White asks. I hold her hand tight. "When I answered the door Gale was there. He said something then kicked me in the stomach and I fell. I must have hit my head on the way down" she looks down. "Honey it's ok" I lean in and kiss her forehead. "Oh and Katniss, you are 3 months along in your pregnancy, so you are starting to show" Dr White says and leaves the room.

*Katniss POV*

"Oh and Katniss, you are 3 months along in your pregnancy, so you are starting to show". The words ring in my mind. 3 months. Wow. "When I'm discharged we need to get baby and some more maternity stuff". Peeta nods and I go to sleep. I'm kept in the hospital for the next 2 days. It's so boring here! Peeta comes in everyday and stays for most of the day.
