The number 204 always seemed like a lot to her. Yet, there are times when that number is no longer accurate for her. It is a number that not everyone bothers to remember the significance behind. 204 is the number of bones in the human body. It hurts like hell when they break and she knew the bloody bitter truth to that statement. She was just that lucky. Presently, she knew for a fact that she had just broken her wrist.
Nakai Miyabi pushed herself into a sitting position and looked down at her wrist with minuscule frown. 'Well that's disappointing.' It was twisted in an awkward position, and the skin was already starting to purple. Any other person would screech, but she just grasped onto it with her other hand and turned it until she felt the bones in alignment. Slowly, the pain from the break disappeared and all that was left was some bruising. Her eyes glanced over at her attacker and she frowned.
"Maki-san can't you please stop hurting others?" she asked a girl who stood tall a few paces from where she was on the ground. Miyabi stood up without pain and worriedly looked at another girl, Chiyoko, who was curled up in a ball against the brick wall. The little thing had tears of emotional turmoil streaking down her cheeks. "I mean, are you really this bored?"
"We were just having a little conversation." Maki clearly lied, but could not care less that it was not convincing. She shifted a step back and looked away from Miyabi. Poisonous words spouted from lip gloss covered lips. "Just beat it freak."
Miyabi shook her head determinedly and took up a stance in front of the cowering girl. "Not until you promise to leave her alone!" It was such a stupid decision, to help this girl. The conclusion would not be a good one. Her body was reacting on its own and her mind was playing along. Perhaps that was a fatal flaw of hers, to do what she wants no matter what others expected of her. It did seem to bite her in the end. Her teal eyes turned threatening and hardened into a glare. "I won't let you hurt her."
Maki looked at her confused for a second, before going back to normal and rolled her eyes in annoyance. She went to go around the obstruction, ignoring all warnings. She was just a girl who was bored and was ultimately trying to kill time.
An arm snapped out in front of her, halting her mid-step. The hand was posed with the palm facing her and the fingers slightly curled in. She watched as the fingers began to turn bone white and lengthen until they became the sharpest of claws. The lack of flesh was a nerve wracking sight. It was gone and replaced with something that was no longer soft and vulnerable. In fact, the claws looked as though they could tear though anything, maybe even a person's soul. They were pristine now, but one could easily imagine them tainted with a crimson red.
Maki visibly gulped, but tried to maintain her image -- it was not working. Her lips squeezed firmly together so as to hide their need to quiver. Her hands turned to fists in frustration with this fear. She trailed the arm up to Miyabi, who had not wavered for a single second.
