The Protectors: Curse (an ROTG fanfic) -LOST INSPIRATION AND IDEA-

Prologue

The girl sat at one of the houses in the shadows. She is looking at the battle between the Guardians and Pitch. Her appearance that of shadows, the only thing different was her eyes. Her eyes can change to whatever color she wants but tonight it shows her true eye color, ice blue.

Once she saw Pitch ran, she stepped into the shadows to the place where he'll surely stop. Even though shadows isn't her real power, the curse have brought it to her also something else - a reason that she'll share only to those trustworthy. She stopped by some shadows near the trees at the back of the Guardians, and in Pitch's view if he isn't crowded with fear.

When she saw what Toothania did to Pitch she smirked, seeing as the warrior queen inside the fairy finally surfaced even for a little while. She was too busy looking at the Guardians and the kids that she didn't notice that Pitch noticed her.

Pitch was being dragged by his nightmares but that didn't stop him from seeing the girl.

The girl that he thought will never show up again.

The girl he made a deal with too leave the Guardians alone.

Then everything clicked.

That is why the Sandman came back. Why the last light didn't stop believing. How come with just dreams the children believed again. 'I'll make her pay' was his last thought before he faced the problem he is having now, his Nightmares.

The girl didn't notice that she was spotted by the Boogeyman, for she was busy looking at the Guardians, especially the newest Guardian. Her eyes - even just for a second - showed guilt, sorrow, and regret before, with a blink, disappeared and turned emotionless.

When she saw them celebrate she snorted.

"The battle is far from over, Pitch will return yet they celebrate as if he was destroyed. They sure are quite forgetful especially to those that include me." she mumbled. At first her voice was calm but in the last sentence her voice turned venomous.

Nobody noticed her, not even the Sandman whom she saved and talked a while ago. Not even Jamie Bennett, the last light, whom she whispered encourages in his head.

Jamie was happy, too happy, to notice the spirit he owes. The spirit who he and her family believed in. The spirit who saved his lives countless of times. He knows she's there, he is just to happy to notice.

Once the Guardians left, that is when he notice her presence. But it was too late, she was ready to leave.

"Wait! Don't go"

"I'm sorry Jamie but I must go." That was her last words before she disappeared into the darkness. Jamie looked around his friends and sister was knocked out above them was blue and white sand he only have a moment to realize she knocked them out before she fell asleep.

When the Sandman left in the sleigh. He then realized something. He forgot about her, he forgot to thank her for saving him. He tried to look for her but can't see her anywhere. 'Great. She probably hates me now' he scolded himself mentally.

Nobody, not even the Moon, knows that the girl was watching them. Making sure everything is back to normal before stepping in the shadows to leave, this time truly and return when needed.

She stepped out of the shadows to be greeted by shouts and a lot more shouts. Her clothes help blend in the darkness of that night.

As she nears a ring in the middle four spirits, with the same clothes like hers appeared. "Finally, you arrived. Thought you'll be watching them a lot more longer." one of them, a boy, teased.

"Very funny, now let's go." She said making a fist. "I think they waited too long."

With that she went inside the ring where another misfortunate spirits is waiting to loose, after all nobody can defeat a monster like her.
