*Lia Watters' POV-*

"Lia, if you're not down these stairs in the next five seconds, then I will drag your ass down them!" My brother, Pete, is so impatient. Does he not know that girls do take a while to get ready?

Considering I'm starting a new college, in ten minutes, I actually want to make a good first impression. You know what they say, first impressions count! I give my hair a quick brush through before making my way downstairs, I slip on my dolly shoes and walk to Pete's car, while texting my friend, Eve, who's currently in Cali enjoying the sun. While I get the crappy weather over here in Chapel Holmes, or whatever it's called.

I had better find out the correct name of this town, before anyone thinks I don't know it. I look down towards the end of street and found a sign reading 'Holmes Chapel', I was close enough!

"Lia, get down here!" I hear Pete shout up the stairs, I snigger before shouting in response.

"I'm out here!" He looks towards me and gave me his best 'sorry' look, I simply stick up my middle finger and give him a sarcastic smile, before clambering into the recently unlocked Toyota Prius.

I search through Pete's endless supply of CDs, he has loads of the damn things yet they're all a pile of shit. I finally settle for an old Bon Jovi CD, I prefer the older songs to the 'music' nowadays. I really don't know how anyone can call a song beginning with a hashtag, music. It's not music, it's a load of shit.

I lean against the window, thinking of what I hope my day will be like and what it will actually be like. I hope it will be a peaceful college where everyone is nice to everyone, but I don't think there's a school like that. I hear the first beats of 'It's My Life' and open my mouth to start singing along.

As we pull into the college car park, Pete and I have the windows rolled down whilst singing at the top of our voices, to Bon Jovi. Talk about making a good first impression, I think I've made quite a good one.

I climb out of my brother's Prius and slam the door before saying goodbye to him. I walk towards the entrance, of the school, ready to start my first day at Holmes Chapel College.

~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~

I take my seat at the back of the class, not really wanting to draw much attention to myself. I grab my notebook and a pen out of my Louis Vuitton bag, that I spent years saving up for, ready to start learning about Health and Social Care.

My passion has always been caring for people, I love knowing that I've helped an elderly person cross the street or I've put a plaster on my brother. As long as I've helped someone be happy, then I'm happy!

I open my notebook up and start doodling on the back page, I'm half way through my drawing of a horse, when I'm interrupted by a presence sitting beside me. I turn to my right, to find a boy sitting next to me.

"Hiiii" I stammer, I can't seem to find the words. He stifles a laugh before replying.

"I'm Jack" He sticks his hand out it me to shake. I shake his hand with caution, I've had many past experiences with my brother playing a trick on me, that involves shaking his hand and an electric shock that follows shortly after.

"I'm Lia" I say, this time my words coming across clearer than before.

"So, what are you doing later?" I've only been here five minutes and I've already made a friend.

"Let me check my diary" He lets another laugh out. "I'm not joking!" His facial expression immediately changes to a serious one. I can't help but laugh at his so-serious facial expression.

"I'm free" He smiles at my response, showing his pearly white teeth. I smile back at him before turning my attention to the teacher, waiting impatiently for the class to settle down.
