dan plundered down the icy road. the winter snow fell in cascading ringlets with sporadic ideals. circling to the melting road that dan's eyes couldn't comprehend. the whole world was spinning and turning. left to right, his eyes playing tricks as crystal tears ran down rosy cheeks as he sprinted down the road.

he was panting, puffs of air leaving his bleeding and broken lips as he ran. he kept running. a spinning world was the thing he couldn't understand, but the image of the boy he loved was engrained in his head as he sprinted faster and faster. more tears spilled from his eyes as puffs of air left his mouth like smoke trails that linger. he kept sprinting. his legs on fire. it was no match to the pain in his heart.

dan had walked into his boyfriends room, let in by his mother, a stocky woman with plump cheeks and a warm smile. she said he was upstairs and to go on in. he had smiled, he had walked up the stairs, and he had found him not in his room, but in his closet with a rope tied around his neck. his face was lifeless, eyes wide. dan had screamed so loud. and then he was running.

he hadn't known how long he had been running. only that the world was spinning and that his legs burned. but nothing was as painful as the shear pain that was ripping through his head as acidic tears left his eyes and burned his cheeks and skin. he finally stopped, still crying, trying not to wail in agony.

"hey, hey dude, are you ok?" dan heard a voice, soft and gentle, and in all honesty, he wasn't.
