Disclaimer I unfortunately don't own Undertale, but I own my OC's shamelessly~ Once more Italics are thoughts cause I can't help being a lazybones~

SOUL colours are inspired form this story which I DO have permission on Wattpad, Devart, and AO3 to use as I credited them in the other 2 sites- http://archiveofourown.org/works/6259684/chapters/15370237

Who can guess what type of SOUL Amy has~?

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I was sitting cross-legged on the ground, a few feet from Sans as he leaned back against a tree, relaxing in the late-afternoon sunlight. I was easily within his reach, physically or magically, so he wasn't putting up a fight about me sitting outside his pocket as I dug into my apple pie, occasionally taking a drink from a water bottle.

My wings hung off my back behind me, relaxed but occasionally twitching with the urge to stretch out and fly. I didn't have the guts to ask Sans if I could spread my wings for anything other than a performance though, and ignored the twitching.

"Hey, what's that on your head, Songbird?" Sans said, his voice right above me as I realized he was sitting up and reaching for me. I dropped my pie and the bottle of water as his fingers neared me. I couldn't help the small flinch when his boney fingers wrapped around me, lifting me up to his face, given what nearly happened the last time I'd been that close to his face. The white pinpricks in his eyes seemed to roll briefly before he pressed a finger against the right side of my head, before pulling it away a second later- covered in a red liquid.

"How'd you hurt yourself?" he growled at me.

"I-it must have happened when someone shot at me as I was escaping the store, I-I swear I didn't feel anything!" I stuttered. "I-it's nothing bad, I-it's fine-"

"No, it's NOT fine." he cut me off. "Now I gotta heal you and expend MY magic to do so." he sighed, bringing his finger back to the injury. His eye was glowing a bright blue-green, and I flinched, closing my eyes tightly. I felt a wave of warmth spread over my head for a few seconds before he lifted his finger away. I slowly opened my eyes.

"There you go. Not even a scar, looks like nothing even happened." he said, sounding a bit proud of himself.

"If it was such an inconvenience to heal me, why even bother?" I asked, trying to wipe the blood off the side of my head now that I knew it was there.

"Because I don't want you all bloody and torn up when you're performing for me, got it?" he said a bit harshly. Gulping nervously, I nodded quickly.

"Y-yessir, g-got it." I said. "Um...wh-what are the chances I could stretch my wings for a bit? J-just a few minutes?" I asked, looking up at him wide-eyed.

"And why should I chance you taking this opportunity to escape?" he asked, an eyebrow raised suspiciously.

"B-because I won't?" I said, taking a steadying breath. "I need to stretch my wings for something other than a performance, or else they'll stiffen up and I won't be able to perform as good." I said, playing the only card I knew I had against him- saying it would affect my performances for him. He seemed to think it over for a moment.

"Hmm...Alright. Guess I could easily find you anyway if you don't come back. You got 10 minutes, Kid." he said, opening his hand and having me sit in his open palm. I managed a shaky smile at him as I stood up, bowing as if before a performance, before leaning to the side and falling off his hand towards the ground.

"Hey!" he shouted in surprise, trying to grab me as he obviously thought I'd fallen. I snapped my wings open with a gleeful cheer, soaring in a wide loop around his hand and across the clearing. I couldn't help the wide smile on my face as I did lazy circles around the large clearing, occasionally jumping from branches with my wings folded shut on my back as I fell to the forest floor, only to snap them open at the last second from the ground.

"Alright there, Kid. Time's up, come back." Sans said after a while, sounding amused. I soared over and landed on a treebranch above him, just out of his physical reach. I looked down at him, pouting.

"Aww, but I wanna fly more!" I whined.

"We agreed on 10 minutes, Songbird. Now come down here." he frowned, his voice low. I gulped nervously and flew down to him, landing in his open hand. "Good girl~" he said, smile back on his face as he rubbed the top of my head with his thumb.

"Um, Sans? I've...been meaning to ask." I said. "When you use that blue magic on me, and lift me up and stuff, something in me hurts. Is...that normal?" I asked.

"That'd be your SOUL, Kid. Monsters can affect Human SOULs with our magic, some moreso than others." he explained.

"And...that goes for Mutants too? We- I have a SOUL?" I said, my voice a whisper of disbelief.  Sans looked down at me with confusion.

"Uh, yeah, you've got a SOUL Kid. My magic wouldn't be able to affect you if you didn't." he said, leaning back against the tree. "Where's this coming from, Songbird? You aren't usually like this, or have I just not noticed?" he asked, placing me on his chest and moving his arm behind his head.

"It's...just one of the things Humans tell Mutants, that we've got no SOULs..." I said, shrugging. "But...if your magic affects SOULs, and it affects me...then all those Humans were wrong. We're just like them, we've got SOULs too." I said, tears in my eyes but a smile on my face. Sans was silent for a few seconds, studying me with his eyes.

"This...isn't something I normally offer, but I could show you your SOUL if you really wanted to see it?" he said, making my eyes widen.

"Really? You can?! I-I can see it? How?!" I said excitedly. Sans chuckled in amusement as his eye glowed blue, making me a bit nervous.

"Relax, just pullin' out your SOUL, Songbird." he said. I felt a tugging feeling in my chest, and there was a soft ping before a cartoony-style heart floated in front of me. It let off a soft, Light-Green glow with swirls of Aqua and Yellow shifting around in it. I watched, mesmerized. This was MY SOUL, it was who I was as a person. I looked more closely at the colours swirling in the heart, a sort of understanding coming to me the closer I looked.

Light-Green for Timid...Aqua for Active...Yellow for Curious...this is who I am, this is ME...

After a few more moments, I felt my SOUL get pushed back into my chest and disappear, breaking the small trance I'd been in looking at it. I looked up at Sans with a blush on my face.

"Got a good looking SOUL there, Songbird. No wonder you're such a good performer." Sans said, letting out a yawn. I quickly looked away from his open maw, not wanting to see those sharp teeth again, and noticed it was just past nightfall. The last traces of sunlight were disappearing from the sky as the stars peeked through the small spaces in the forest canopy. Sans wrapped his hand around me, lifting me off his chest and bringing me to his pocket again, stuffing me inside. He withdrew his hand to zip the pocket up.

"Um, Sans? C-could I have a blanket please?" I asked. "It's... a bit cold tonight." I said. His boney fingers withdrew from the pocket, and re-entered a few moments later, shoving in a blanket. I tugged it in and wrapped myself up in it as he zipped up his pocket.

"Thank you, Sans." I said softly. I felt a slight pressure against me from outside his pocket for a few moments before it left.

Did he just, like, pat the pocket? Pat me?

"No problem. Can't have My Little Songbird freezing overnight, can we?" his voice said from above me.

Right, he doesn't care for me as a person, only as his entertainment...Still, he treats me better than Humans treat my kind. Except for threatening to eat me...

I settled down for the night when I heard Sans snoring softly above me, falling asleep shortly after him.
