Chapter 2: A New Friend?

I'm excited for this new part! It took me a while to make it and correct it but this is the final product! I am so thankful for every-fur who took time out of their day to read my book, it means the world to me! Anyway, here's Chapter 2!

Akuro's POV:

I woke up peacefully without an alarm, slowly opening my eyes. I then picked my whole upper body, sitting up on my bed stretching. I looked at the alarm. it read 12:02am.

"Ugh! I didn't set my alarm. I need to be at that park at the same time as yesterday!" I said with urgency.

I then rushed to the bathroom brushing hair, then my teeth trying to make myself presentable. I then rushed back to my room to put on a purple tank-top with denim blue jeans. I then grabbed my phone and my bag, which felt lighter than it usually does. I looked inside to see only 2 books inside.

"W-where's my 3rd book?!" I asked worried
Panicking, I then began to search my room for it but it was nowhere to be found, so I rushed downstairs.
Rushing downstairs with my bag, I heard the voice of my mom in the middle of calling someone so I decided not to ask.

I began looking around the kitchen to see if I could find it, but When I looked at the clock on our stove, the time read 11:23am. I gave myself the biggest face paw.
"I've been rushing this entire morning for nothing?"I groaned.

I then just gave up looking for the book for now, so I decided to eat some cereal. I walked to the kitchen sighing grabbing a spoon and the box of my favorite cereal, Waffle Crisps, and began pouring some into the bowl I ate the cereal dry with no milk because that's just how I am.

While I was eating, my mom stormed outside the back door arguing with who ever was on the phone. I saw her facial expression she had as she walked out and she looked pissed, I don't know who made her so frustrated, I felt a little bit worried.

I just let it go and grabbed my things and brought it to the living room and got on my phone while I wait for it to be 12:00, the time when I would get up to leave to the park.

As time goes by it's 11:56, and my mom is still outside in the phone. I then grabbed my things and headed to the door and started walking to the park. The walk seemed longer because I was worried about my mom and about me ever finding my book.

I then arrived at the entrance of the park, trying my best not to look worried at all. I enter the park seeing about the same type of furs just like I did yesterday, moms with their cubs.

I follow the pavement sidewalk until I find the same bench I as yesterday. I then began looking around the area I was yesterday to see if my lost book could make an appearance.

After a few minutes of searching, I look up to see the same wolf walking over to me. He was wearing an orange tank-top with blue jean shorts, but this time he had was wearing a bag.

When I looked up at him blushing, I quickly looked away acting as if I hadn't noticed him. I could hear him walk toward me, and the closer and closer he got the more nervous I was, until he stood up next to me. I could feel him tap on my shoulder.

"Are you looking for something?" He asked

I then turned around with noticeable blush on my face
'Come on Akuro say something!' I thought to myself.

"Y-yea, I just lost my book"I responded rubbing my left arm with my paw nervously.

"Well it's your lucky day!" He said smiling
I watched him grab his bag from his back pulling out a hard covered book that was very familiar to me, he pulled out my missing book!

"Is..is that my-"

"Yes it is" he said finishing my sentence

I smiled and my started wagging my tail with excitement. He then handed the book to me zipping back up his book bag.

"Thank you, b-but how did you find it?" I asked

"I saw you reading multiple books yesterday at the park, so shortly after you left I noticed that you left one of your books laying on your bench" He explained "I tried to find you so I could give you your book but I couldn't find you" He said rubbing his neck with his paw, laughing it off.

"That was so nice of you" I said no longer stuttering

"It's just what I do. By the way my name is Elijah, but you can call me Eli!" He said putting out his paw

"Akuro" I said smiling shaking his paw witch felt so soft to the touch but at the same time, he had a strong grip.

"So are you new here?" He asked

"Yea I moved here about a month ago, still unpacking boxes now!" I said and we both started chuckling at the small joke.

We then spent the rest of the day at the part talking and joking around. He has a very expressive personality and that's what I like about him, but the whole time I was trying not to stare at him as much or I would blush very noticeably. I can say that I had opened up to him a lot more and that we have became great friends, but I wouldn't want him to know that I like him more than a friend...not now.

It was 4:00, and we have been talking for what seemed like forever until Eli asked...
"Would you uhh..you know, wanna come over to my house?"

I was shocked but excited, I didn't know he would want me to actually hang out with him after we just met!

"I would love to" I said smiling

"Awesome!" He responded
Eli's expression lit up, he was so excited that I agreed and his tail started wagging uncontrollably.

We then gazed into each other's eyes smiling at each other while I was blushing, it was silent until I spoke.

"W-we should get going" I said packing my things

"Oh...yea sure" he said grabbing his book bag

We then began walking to his house. I then pulled out my phone and called my mom about where I was going and if it was ok, and she said yes. Eli and I were talking the whole way there, the walk was less than 10 minutes.

We finally reached his house, it was blue and white, it also looked like it was 2 stories. When we walked up the steps to the front door. Eli pulled out his keys from inside of his book-bag then he placed the key into the lock of the door. I just looked at him smiling, he then turned and smiled back. He then turned the lock and opened the door for me.

"Are you coming in?" He asked jokingly.

"Y-yeah" I responded as we both entered into his house.
