since we were young

Walking into Kindergarten, I was scared.  I mean, I was starting school! My mom bought me way more than I needed, and gave me everything for school. I could've asked anyone for anything for the reason of 'school'.

"Mommy can I get some little super hero figures, for school?" I had asked.

"Yes dear! Anything for school." she would say.  I had hit the school jackpot. Beginning of school sales. On toys! But, when the day finally rolled around to start school, well. I was nervous.

"Grayson! Picture time, hon! Say, Kindergarten!" "Kindergarten" I said through the teeth of my fake smile.

The car ride, I was quiet and nervous. I didn't know what to expect. My mom and dad treated me as if I weren't a six year old but eleven. And looking back, I realized my parents sucked. And that is not a flip side.

Going into Trinity Elementary was very deceiving. In a first timers point of view, it was like crows and weirdly dark clouds around it, after all, I was six. I had imaginary friends. Imaginary pets. Well, I was a crazy six year old!

"Hi class, I'm Mrs. Grifin, your new teacher! I have one kid, you guys's age in Ms. Ford's class! I hope we can all get along well and not cause any problems because we are the best kids on campus!"

Of course I had no idea what she meant. I always thought of school as learning and boring. But once I got here, I immediately liked it. Something about my class and teacher. And the smell. MMM. It smelt so good like fresh paper and.. pizza? School lunches were the best!

Breaking me out of my thoughts, Mrs. Griffin said,"Okay class, let's go through the circle and say our names, how old you are, and favorite flavor of ice cream!" She gave me two thumbs up to start.

"I'm Greyson but they call me Grey. I'm six. And I like.... Chocolate!" I said with a two-gaped smile. I could feel my face heating up with a red hot mess. I was, embarrassed? I didn't know what I was feeling. The excitement, the emotions? Whew, the carnival of emotions I was experiencing!

I learned the whole class's names and stared to feel comfortable. I liked this group of kids and I felt like I'd make good friends.
But one girl stood out, Erin.

Later on, it was lunch. Entering the cafeteria, I just inhaled a bunch of FOOD. I smelt pizza, baked potato, mangos, and sweet hint of ICE CREAM! I got excited and anxious. I waited my turn for the lunch line and once I got into the kitchen, I think New Zealand could hear my belly growl! I grabbed as much food as I was allowed and payed. When I got out of the line, I felt my stomach drop. Where I sit now, sets my whole future NOW! I chose my class sitting with a variety of boys and girls. I sat next to Erin and a boy named Geo. Erin had raven colored hair and dark green eyes. Her smile was so large, I feel as if she had stolen my smile! Her dimples as deep as buttons. Her eyes, were warming. I noticed around the pupil was shimmering yellow. Skin tone, fair. She smelled of flowers but a hint of stinging smoke. The boy, Geo had a tan skin tone. Dark brown hair and brown eyes. His smile, warming. No dimples. "Can I sit here?" I asked crossing my fingers.

"Go ahead, Grey, was it?" Erin asked. I nodded and smiled. She smiled back. I knew our friendship would last, long.
