Starsigns are more important to some people, less important to others. The main character doesn't have a chance, however. She lives in a world, where each and every baby receives a neclace with a pendant shaped like one of the starsigns staright after birth. The pendant represents the person's soulmate's starsign. If the pendant is gold the soulmate is female; if it's silver they are male. In addition, each pendant holds a certain amount of tiny diamonds counting the wearer's age when they meet their soulmate. The tint of those diamonds is the exact colour of the soulmate's eyes.
