I groaned, and lifted the covers off of my body, rising out of the bed. I unplugged my alarm clock. Even though the alarm clock wasn't the problem that woke me up, my parents were.
I ran my fingers through my tangled and undone hair.
"I just wanna know who she is, Emmett!" My mom yelled, her high pitch voice bouncing t+hrough the walls.
"Tulesa, sweetie I swear, I-"
"Dont touch me, Emmett! Just dont. I wont get mad or fill in divorce papers, I just want to know who she is. That's all, Emmett." Her voice softened.
I sighed and slid back into my bed, throwing the covers back over my body.
.I heard footsteps coming up the stairs and my dad cursing to himself. My door gently opened as mom lightly tapped on the door. "Wake up, Lashani. It's your first day today." She walked out of the room, walking down the hall.
No shit its my first day.
I slowly got out of the bed and dragged myself to my walk-in closet. I peered inside and spotted black platform pumps, a black high waist skater skirt, and a long sleeve shirt with a black graphic heart on it. I showered, then I put the outfit on, with the shirt tucked inside of the high waist skirt. To make it look better, I put on a gold, sparkly, belt on. I twirled around and looked into the mirror before smiling. Then frowned at my hair.
"What to do...." I mumbled.
Natural curly or straight today? Hm, i'm gonna go with straight. I washed my hair, quickly dried it, then began to flat iron it. My back length hair looked sooo good with this outfit. I walked as fast as I could in these heels, and grabbed my floral bag,
I walked downstairs to be welcomed by my dog, Chance. I kneeled down and smiled, petting his body. "Hey, Chance. Who's a good boy?" He yipped before licking my hand. I laughed and kissed his head, getting back up and walking to the kitchen.
I saw my mom leaning on the counter. She was wearing black jeans, a white tank top, with her white belt showing. She had on gold heels, and a brown cardigan to subdue it. Her back-length hair was curled from back to front. I so take my fashion advice from her. She tossed an apple to me.
My dad was eyeing her, asking why she was dressed like that through his look. She ignored his stare and turned towards me. "Get in the car, Lashani."
"Yes ma'am." I waved goodbye to dad and quickly tossed a treat to Chance and rushed to the car. I got into the passenger seat and put my seatbelt on. Mom quickly put her seatbelt on and cranked up the car, then started to drive away.
Mom was humming to the radio, I glanced at her and cleared my throat.
"Mom?"
She looked at me before glancing back at the road. "Yes, sweetie?"
I took a deep breath, and looked out of the window, not facing her when I talked. "Why do you think dad is cheating?"
Mom took a while before answering. "I dont think, Shani. I know."
"Do you "know" that Dad really loves you and he'd never do anything in his whole life to hurt you?" I clearly spoke.
"Shani! This corruption going between your dad and I should stay between us, dont worry about it." She furiously looked towards me.
I continued to speak m my mind, "You guys are yelling every night, I can barely sleep! Dad would never in his life try to hurt you, mom. If you think he's hanging with Ashanti or that other girl at his job, I can guarantee you he's not, Mom. Dad loves you and you only."
"LASHANI THATS ENOUGH!" She yelled, speeding up.
I shook my head in frustration and plugged in my iPod. A few minutes later she arrived at the school and parked. I got out of the car. "Bye, I love you." She said, with guilt in her voice. I nodded before closing the door and walking inside the school building.
I saw cheerleaders with black and red colors. There were 2 black ones, and the rest were white, they were cheering in the halls. "Go, spartans, go!"
The blacks ones smiled at me, getting back to their cheer. A few of the boys were whistling.
The cheer skirt were really shirt, they didn't even go down to their knees. the cheer top that had spartans written across it was a bandeau top, with straps though.
"Cheerleading tryouts will be held all through this week and next! If you think you've got what it takes, then bring it. But if you know you suck and if you think you suck, then dont bother, because chances are, you'll never make it." The white blonde chuckled, who i'm guessing is the team captain.
She seems so rude, I think i'm gonna try out. Her snorty attitude is gonna see that i'm better. Some people were staring at me, taking in a person they've never seen before.
I went to the office and sat down in the chair. Waiting for my locker combination code, and my schedule. I got a pack of bubblegum out of my bag and began chewing on it.
Their was this guy with blue eyes being fussed at by the principal, his head was resting on his shoulder as he was being lectured.
"You cant go around starting fights! Handle your situations like a man. You will be on your own soon, you've got to learn." The principal told the handsome boy.
The white boy caught my stare and smiled, waving a little to me, before turning back to the principal. "Alright, Mr.Karin, I get it. I know, I have three days of detention. Can I go now?"
The principal snarled, "Four, considering your attitude. Now run along Ryan. I've got a new student to deal with."
So Ryan was his name.
